Everyone knows that having children and getting a good night’s sleep don’t go hand in hand, and that in a sleep deprived state we can do some pretty silly things. Obviously sleep deprivation is not fun to deal with but it does cause some pretty amusing situations – even if they may not seem funny at the time...! BleepBleeps would like to hear about the most ridiculous things you have done due to your DCs keeping you up at night.

Here’s what BleepBleeps have to say: ‘Thank you so much for joining us on our mission for a good night’s sleep for all the family. We are so excited to announce the latest addition to the BleepBleeps family! Suzy Snooze: a Smart Baby Monitor, Sleep Trainer, and Nightlight all in one.

She’s the first of her kind, an innovative sleep companion that helps babies, children and the whole family get a great night’s rest. We’ve created Suzy with the Mumsnet community, and Professor Colin Espie - Chief Medical Officer of Sleepio.

We are so excited to show off everything she can do, take a peek at our Kickstarter page to watch our new video and hear what Mum’s (and babies) think of Suzy, and if you like it we’d love it if you can support us to bring her to life!

Thank you so much!

Tom & the BleepBleeps team.’

To find out more about Suzy Snooze take a look at this short video and please let us know your thoughts below

So what stupid things have you managed to do when in dire need of some decent sleep? Have you gone to the supermarket in your pyjamas? Have you put your keys in the fridge? Managed to use face cream instead of toothpaste? Or even tried to use the TV remote as a phone?

Whatever silly things you have got up to, add your story below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

I called my husband's work and told the switchboard girl "Hi, can you put me through to.... err," totally forgot his name and put down phone in mortal embarrassment....

shellywkd · 23/06/2016 17:57

spent 20 minutes looking for my glasses that I was wearing, looking in the fridge for toothpaste but my all time favourite is getting up at the weekend and making packed lunch for school

When our eldest daughter was a few weeks old and colicky, only the car would put her to sleep, and one night, at about three am her daddy drove the wrong way up a motorway slip-road with her! luckily there was no-one else about, and he quickly realised and was able to do a U turn!!

maryandbuzz1 · 23/06/2016 18:01

Put my knickers on inside out.
Put my handbag in the fridge.
Went to work with trainers on!

pgwynne · 23/06/2016 18:10

Put clothes in the bin instead of washing basket and rubbish in the fridge LOL

Everhopeful1 · 23/06/2016 18:11

I tried on shoes in a charity shop, 3 hours later realised I was wearing odd shoes. One of my own, one from the shop.....

juggler4 · 23/06/2016 18:13

I once took 5 attempts to make up a bottle of formula - I kept losing count of the scoops - it only needed 3...

kamaxtra · 23/06/2016 18:15

Forgot what day it was and showed up to a flat viewing....that I had already seen.

chrissiecurtis · 23/06/2016 18:27

I have put the plate in the bin with left overs.
Put my mug of tea in the fridge and sat down with the milk.

andywedge · 23/06/2016 18:33

Drove the car in my slippers on the school run

Lauzipop1 · 23/06/2016 18:46

Was so sleep deprived I was in a shop and walked into a glass display and knocked a set of mugs and glasses flying. They were very kind though and didn't insist on me paying for the breakages.

The thing ive done the most from being sleep deprived is burning the dinner, i would put the dinner on, sit on the sofa for what seemed like a minute only to be awoken to the fire alarm going off. I think the fish and chip shop round where i live definitely had a rise in takings during the first few months of my dd being born

Got up, dressed, ready to leave the house..realised it was Sunday - my day off! Husband had gone to work (starts at 5am) thank god i realised as i was about to leave as i commute to work - 1 and a half hour journey and the kids were in bed Shock

wjanice121 · 23/06/2016 19:04

Gone to work in my slippers and not realised I had them on until I was well into my bus journey

mave · 23/06/2016 19:05

Put the microwave on and found I'd put nothing in it.
Put the nappy on the wrong way round.
Agreed to go up to my mum's for tea and totally forgot when she rang just after we'd eaten!

hiddenmichelle · 23/06/2016 19:30

I have "baked" a library book! Put the oven on for tea and only went back to what I was doing - when I smelt something a bit "funny" I realised that I had put my library book in the oven rather than my bag ready to return! It was nicely brown at the edges!

freefan · 23/06/2016 19:30

I have done the school run on a saturday much to the childrens horror! and the trying to put the kettle in the fridge

janeyf1 · 23/06/2016 19:32

I put the post in the washing machine and didn't realise and later spent ages wondering where the post was and looking in all the drawers. I also accidentally used perfume instead of mouthwash and had a tough time rinsing my mouth out

izbiz88 · 23/06/2016 19:46

I was once so tired that I was walking up my daughter's stairs to her loft bedroom, walked straight into the wall and chucked a cup of coffee all over my head!! Didn't have time to have a shower so had to go to work smelling of coffee Blush

I've also walked into a room several times and panicked because my baby wasn't there...then realised I was holding her! You've got to love sleep deprivation.

bridge16 · 23/06/2016 19:47

I frequently make cups of tea and completely forget to boil the kettle and pour the water in the cup then realise its stone cold - yuck! :-)

icclemunchy · 23/06/2016 19:55

Woke the baby up Confused she was maybe 6 weeks old and I must of been dreaming she was crying. Woke up and got her out of the Moses basket, she stayed asleep so I say and looked at her confused for a minute before trying to put her back. Second she was in there the howling started, and didn't stop for a long long time Shock

MadJo · 23/06/2016 19:57

Left my handbag with DS at nursery and took his nappy bag to work with me. Nursery staff were a little bemused as to why DS might need my laptop, purse, mobile phone and diary and I was more than a little red faced at the garage when I tried to pay for petrol with a packet of wet wipes.

nettymay · 23/06/2016 19:58

I got up ran for the bus to work - after waiting over half an hour I realized it was Sunday not Monday - Bah Humbug!

g15grw · 23/06/2016 20:01

I tried to dry my hair with a new hairdryer, but it was only blowing cold air. I took it back to the store just to be told that it was on the cold setting. I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me.

leanneth · 23/06/2016 20:04

I've tried to put milk in the wrong tea, (herbal one instead of normal tea!), washed my hair with conditioner instead of shampoo- and wondered why it wasn't lathering up properly!

I have driven on auto pilot to a few places- if I start off on a route to somewhere else but it happens to be on my route to nursery or work for example, I have ended up going towards work or nursery- usually realise before I actually get there though!

One day DH found my car door wide open on the driveway- must have got kids out then got distracted instead of going back to close it!
