To celebrate the launch of DisneyLife, the new digital membership service from Disney, they'd love to hear about your favourite Disney films from your childhood and whether you've shared this film with your DCs.

Here's what DisneyLife says "We're so excited to launch DisneyLife, which gives the whole family access to a fantastic collection of Disney and DisneyPixar movies, Disney Channels TV box sets, books, music and more, in one place. DisneyLife will help create magical moments for the whole family to share, so we're keen to hear about your favourite Disney film from childhood and if you've shared a magical moment with your children by watching this together."

So, what was your favourite Disney film when you were a child? Maybe The Jungle Book was your favourite and you would always sing along to the Bare Necessities? Or perhaps you loved Peter Pan and wished you could fly around Neverland? Maybe you watched Pocahontas repeatedly and wanted to learn to paint with all the colours of the wind? Have you shared your favourite Disney film with your DCs?

Whatever your favourite Disney film was, DisneyLife would love to hear about it!

Everyone who adds a comment will be entered in to a prize draw where one winner will receive a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks & good luck,

Little Mermaid was my all time favourite. I thought Ariel was so beautiful and when I was 6 years old I sang "part of your world" to a crowd of 200 people Smile

Really hard to choose but one of the older ones like Pinocchio, Snow White or Bambi. My kids love these too, they really are timeless and charming.

My parents never took me to the cinema as a child. The first film that I ever saw at the cinema was when my Aunt and Uncle took me to see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs when I was around 7 or 8 years old, so late 70's.

I can remember seeing Mary Poppins on the tv. That was probably my favourite as I hadn't seen any of the others!

A lot of the Disney films I have discovered over the past few years since having DD (now 7yo).

I loved the little mermaid - Ariel with her red hair and beautiful voice had me captivated!

Mine is Fantasia too, I'm sure it was the first film I saw at the cinema. I thought it was bonkers, bizarre and yet elements of it have never left me, like Mickley and the never ending buckets of water or the dancing hippos.

Showed it to my kids and they just didn't get it, but they were really little. Not sure they'd understand it even now.

My favourite Disney film during childhood has never changed as I have grown up. It is The Little Mermaid. I know all the words and really used to annoy DM by singing along Grin

Oh The Little Mermaid Grin
I LOVE that film.

I was a competitive swimmer from 6 until I was 14. After every training session i would free my hair from under my tight swimming hat, shake it out and swim "mermaid fly" underwater like Ariel during warm down, imagining my hair looked as phenomenal as hers. Drove my coach nuts but I wanted to be a mermaid dammit! My imaginary friends growing up were Flounder who swam lengths of the pool with me, chatting and generally keeping me company, occasionally racing too because he got excited and Sebastian who sat on the ropes making sarky comments on my technique! I used to sing "poor unfortunate souls" in my head during competitions whilst swimming as I believed it made me faster!!!

I still sing "Part of your world" in my head whenever I'm swimming!!!

My DC will be water babies. Just need to get me a BFP Grin

My favourite Disney film when I was younger was Beauty and the Beast. It is just so beautiful and I loved all the songs. I had all the toys you could then buy from the Disney Store. I have put it on for my ds but it didn't keep his attention. He prefers Tangled, Cinderella and Peter Pan.

Mary poppins, knew every word to every song. Two ds have watched it and enjoyed it, but not as much as I did! They can sing supercalifragalisticexpialidocous though!

I also liked Snow White, but was terrified of the evil step mother!

Jungle book was one of my faves. I remember my little sister was obsessed with Bambi and Lion King and would watch them multiple times a day until she wore out the tapes!

The fox and the hound, loved it and it made me cry a lot.
I remember having the sound track on cassette and loving it. As a matter of fact I can still sing some of the songs!

My absolute favourite was the original Parent Trap film with Haley Mills!
My sister & I loved it. I've not seen the Lyndsey Lohan version, I'm worried it'd spoil my memories of watching the original!

Bambi made me cry and cry what a tearjerker.
Jungle book I loved loads of great songs..also the lady and the tramp loved the bit where they eat the spaghetti together!

Fillybuster · 22/12/2015 23:20

Another vote for Lady and the Tramp (not shared yet with the dcs) but also 101 Dalmations, Fantasia, Beauty and the Beast and the Jungle Book, all of which we have already watched together.

I have loved re-discovering Disney with my dcs over the past couple of years, and been really surprised at how much they love the original Disney films and how well they have stood the test of time. We all watched the original Snow White a few weeks ago and I couldn't believe how old it actually was!

When we got our Betamax vcr, it came with "bed knobs and broomsticks", so we watched it a million times. Robin Hood was also a favourite. Is it wrong to have a little crush on an animated fox?

Can I pick two?
Jungle Book. First film I remember seeing at the cinema. Soundtrack just awesome, and my non-musically-inclined parents even bought the record.
Aristocats. Again, awesome soundtrack, but has a special soft spot for me as I was named after one of the characters.

Osquito · 23/12/2015 01:33

The Aristocats! Great music and two of the best characters ever (the farmdogs). We had the videotape and I think I made all my friends watch it when they came over. I also loved Beauty & The Beast, though every time she escaped into the forest and the wolves came I'd be so terrified I had to cover my eyes. Really miss the older films but I am a HUGE fan of Lilo & Stitch. I made the mistake of watching it on a flight, aged 15, and had to bawl my eyes out under the itchy blanket.

We are huge Disney fans in our house! As a child I remember walking to the video shop with my Dad on the last Friday of the month and being allowed to choose a Disney film... My brothers and I always argued and deliberated for so long that it would usually get picked for us, and Robin Hood became such a repeat favourite that even now, at least 20 years later than my last visit, I still have it in its classic yellow box. Such lovely nostalgia showing it to my 5 and 2 year old DD's recently (but updated to DVD!) and singing along with the 'Robin Hood & Lottoe John, running through the forest...' At the beginning...

And I had a huge crush on the Fox of course! Wink

Robin Hood was a bug favourite when I was little. Then Aladdin when I was a bit older. DD is still a bit young for films but I reckon she'd enjoy some of the singalong classics in The Jungle Book.

My favourites as a child were Robin Hood and Bedknobs and Broomsticks. In my very early twenties I watched the Muppets Christmas Carol and had tears in my eyes! So every Christmas this is one of the films we have to watch. In fact last night my son said that today's the day for Muppet Christmas Carol. I can't wait.

Beauty and the Beast. I loved it so very much (and still do!) and I will never forget the wonder I felt when we went to Disneyland and I met them. I can sing all the songs even now, and I love watching it with DD1, even if she furtively prefers The Little Mermaid! Can't wait to introduce them to DD2 when she's a little older.
