With Christmas on it’s way, Homebase have launched a quiz on Mumsnet and would like you to have a go and let us know what you think of the result!

Please take a few minutes to do the quiz and find out what kind of Christmas host you are and return to this thread to let us know your result. Are you a last-minute shopper or an all year-round planner? Find out with our festive bit of froth.

Everyone who posts about their quiz results on this thread will be entered in to a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Homebase voucher.

Thanks & good luck,
MNHQ

Last minute pull it together... Yep.

Allgunsblazing · 13/12/2015 11:30

Military operator. I knew that anyway :))))

coffeeisnectar · 13/12/2015 11:56

First time thrower.

I'm 46 and have been doing Xmas since 1992. My tree and decorations are up, presents all bought, wrapped and hidden and all food ordered.

Very odd quiz.

Military operator... sounds about right!

Annimousey · 13/12/2015 14:49

Consummate delegator. Hehe.

Cybertinker · 13/12/2015 15:50

Military operator - some is true! Some not so true as I do like to relax as well on Christmas Day and go with the flow.

onadifferentplanet · 13/12/2015 16:01

Military Operator Just asked the ds' if they agree and it was a resounding yes all round

robbo86otm · 13/12/2015 16:11

I'm a Military operator

libra101 · 13/12/2015 18:02

Have done the quiz, but not sure whether recorded as they didn't ask for my email address.

jools401 · 13/12/2015 18:07

I'm a military operator, probably true as I like to be well organised!

KAKADU2001 · 13/12/2015 18:08

My wife always spend Xmas and New year in Sydney Australia with our son and daughter and their families. This is great as we can just sit back and relax while all of the Xmas dinner preparations are carried out. We always volunteer to help but we are always told to chill out and enjoy our holiday. This process has gone on for more than 8 years so this year I suggested that we have our Xmas family dinner at a local restaurant as this would save my son and daughter and their partners having to prepare the Xmas dinner. I am glad to say that they have all agreed and I must say that I am really looking forward to having our Xmas meal in a restaurant where we will be waited on.

angelinlace · 13/12/2015 18:12

Military operator - really?

MuseumOfHam · 13/12/2015 18:27

Military operator. Probably just about true for Christmas planning, but less so for household decorating / minor repairs .... which is why I'd love to win Homebase vouchers...

amelia4levi · 13/12/2015 18:34

Consummate delegator

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/12/2015 18:43

Military Operator.

You've been planning your Christmas festivities since January and - if time and money allowed - you'd happily do a full run-through of the day in advance just to make sure every tiny detail had been considered. The upside of all this meticulous planning is that, unlike everyone else, you can actually take it easy on the day itself, knowing everything has been organised to within an inch of its life.

I am reasonably organised, but I don't start the organising until November.

alsproject · 13/12/2015 18:44

I am a Consummate delegator... but I do get stuck into the prep work!

Roseformeplease · 13/12/2015 18:46

Military planner - but only because we have a winning formula, and stick to it. DD and MiL see to that. DS and DH don't really mind so we just rinse and repeat. Worst year, I was present buying in August but I am trying to become more relaxed.

hiddenmichelle · 13/12/2015 18:47

Last minute pull-it-together - probably about right - I am organised with some things - but terrible with others I am still rushing around at the last minute!

badgermum · 13/12/2015 18:49

It says I'm a Consummate delegator hmmmm not sure about that

Snoopadoop · 13/12/2015 18:51

I'm a military planner too, but had to lie to question 1 - my decorations are UP! And have been since 01/12!

cathwarbur · 13/12/2015 18:52

I am a Military Organiser, I like to plan everything so I'm not flustered on Xmas day, I love Xmas & want to make everyone happy if I can

Ganne1 · 13/12/2015 18:58

Military operator? Not me. But I couldn't say what I really wanted ... and that's just the same with guests - you can never say to them what you really want!
