McCain has asked us to find out what Mumsnetters’ favourite family teatime meal is.

Here’s what they say, “5th October sees the launch of the Nation’s Teatimes campaign by McCain, which sees the brand turn real families into teatime TV stars. McCain is asking real families from across the UK to share real life video clips of themselves enjoying their tea on their dedicated hub www.mccainteatime.co.uk. From Monday to Thursday, the family videos from across the country will be edited against the clock into a McCain ’Teatime Today' advert and aired on ITV later that same evening at 8.45pm during a teatime ad-break.”

Whether you eat tea around the table or tucked up on the sofa, from the hectic to the calm, to over in a flash, no matter what teatime is like in your house there is always good stuff happening and it's where some great family moments take place.

So, what’s your favourite family teatime meal? Maybe you love your family pizza evenings when everyone helps to add their own toppings? Do you have a great beef casserole that everyone enjoys? Or is just beans on toast that the family love?! Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it!

Our favourite family meal at the moment is Chilli with rice, nice and spicy!

Macaroni cheese & garlic bread, yum!!

We have a massive Spag Bol! Home made, with garlic bread, and lots of salad, and for afters, I do a lovely home made strawberry trifle! :)

Shepherds pie with extra thick gravy is our house favourite.

Our favourite family meal is fajitas. Simple for me as I can just put ingredients (cooked) on table and kids get freedom to pick their filling.

My family absolutely adore spaghetti and meatballs. Its got to be Swedish style meatballs, brown spaghetti, and home-made tomato sauce. A side order or garlic bread always goes down well. My daughter loves Parmesan and we have to watch her so carefully or else she would grate a full block over her dinner.

Probably the best meal we all love is a 'Pasta Bake' / 'Macaroni Cheese' type, which I will 'personalise' to suit the families wants/loves.
I will mix in bacon, cooked mushrooms, tomatoes, ham, or the bits left in the fridge ............. cooked chicken, .............
I will even add different toppings of breadcrumbs, cheese, and so on
I will place them in separate dishes, to warm up in the oven, or microwave for late comer's ( lessons after school, swimming club)

It may sound a lot of trouble, but its a great way to use up leftovers and make everyone feel very special to me. Success.

I have a slow cooker and the family love the meaty stews that I make. I try to vary, adding different herbs and veg, and these are the meals that my family enjoy the most.

Unfortunately, it's a rare thing for us all to eat the same meal - we have 3 kids aged 8 to 15 who go to varying degrees of fussiness - most days I end up doing at least 2 different meals. But, the one time a week that everyone agrees is Sunday afternoon - and a roast dinner. My favourite meal of the week.

Nachos
Chinese takeaway!

We are partial to a roast dinner (which DS now helps prepare) but that's more Sunday lunch :)
