McCain has asked us to find out what Mumsnetters’ favourite family teatime meal is.

Here’s what they say, “5th October sees the launch of the Nation’s Teatimes campaign by McCain, which sees the brand turn real families into teatime TV stars. McCain is asking real families from across the UK to share real life video clips of themselves enjoying their tea on their dedicated hub www.mccainteatime.co.uk. From Monday to Thursday, the family videos from across the country will be edited against the clock into a McCain ’Teatime Today' advert and aired on ITV later that same evening at 8.45pm during a teatime ad-break.”

Whether you eat tea around the table or tucked up on the sofa, from the hectic to the calm, to over in a flash, no matter what teatime is like in your house there is always good stuff happening and it's where some great family moments take place.

So, what’s your favourite family teatime meal? Maybe you love your family pizza evenings when everyone helps to add their own toppings? Do you have a great beef casserole that everyone enjoys? Or is just beans on toast that the family love?! Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it!

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher!

Thanks

Our favourite is Spag Bol :)

rejcomp · 18/10/2015 01:59

Sausage and chips, now you made me hungry :)

Janina71 · 18/10/2015 08:21

My boys idea of the ultimate treat - fish in breadcrumbs, chips and corn on the cob - am hoping their tastes will become a little more adventurous as they get older!

Asked my son his top 5, he said lasagne, pizza, meatballs, stew with dumplings and spaghetti bolognese. Guess he is less keen on our vegetarian nights then. Shock

There are seven of us here. The toddler doesn't seem to eat any actual meals at the moment but the rest of us love a roast dinner. Either roast chicken, roast potatoes, roast carrots and parsnips in honey and mustard and garden peas with lots of gravy or roast beef, roast potatoes, steamed broccoli and green beans, garden peas, homemade Yorkshire puddings and gravy. Yum.

Lasagna, salad and chips ;-)

sadiewoohoo · 18/10/2015 14:47

fishfingers chips and beans as it reminds me of my fave meal as a child

feefeegabor · 18/10/2015 14:49

We love our homemade veggie fajitas - my hubby makes them and they are really delish. Plus I don't have to cook!

Annimousey · 18/10/2015 15:07

We all those Spaghetti Bolognaise!

VelvetGlove · 18/10/2015 15:16

Our current favourite is teriyaki salmon with egg noodles.

Cailin7 · 18/10/2015 15:34

Spaghetti Bolognese or fajitas are both favourites

spanglisher · 18/10/2015 15:38

The meal that always go down best is lasagne, but my own personal favourite which avoids all the faff of lasagne, is sausages, chips and beans. Just throw the sausages and chips in the oven - zero preparation.

Ferryfairy · 18/10/2015 16:11

Fish finger sandwiches. Choice of white/seedy bread, red/brown/tartare sauce so everyone's is different. With chips and peas

adorabelle13 · 18/10/2015 16:11

homemade lasagne with garlic dough balls and parmesan shavings

jtl1131 · 18/10/2015 16:12

our favourite is spag bol, although we do love a take away too :)

clairewilko29 · 18/10/2015 16:13

avery64 · 18/10/2015 17:45

A pork and apple cobbler followed by ginger pudding and custard goes down a treat in our family at this time of year :)

Soosieboo · 18/10/2015 18:01

pasta of any sort. Lasagne, spag bol, pasta and tomato sauce.

Lydia30 · 18/10/2015 18:10

The children always look forward to my husbands home made burgers and chips. They are one of my favourites as well

mulgrove · 18/10/2015 18:15

Ham, Egg and Chips, mmm

krnries · 18/10/2015 19:00

Our favourite weekday meal is fajitas. It's ideal because we all have the fajitas our own way - hubby has extra jalopenos, daughter1 has lots of guacamole, daughter2 has lots of cheese. I tend just to have the meat sauce with a salad.
