Netflix are excited to bring you Bloodline, a brand new Netflix original series, from Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman, Glenn Kessler – the creators of the acclaimed show Damages.

Bloodline is a dramatic thriller that explores the demons lurking beneath the surface of a contemporary American family. The Rayburns are hard-working pillars of their Florida Keys community. But when the black sheep son comes home for the 45th anniversary of his parents' hotel, he threatens to expose the Rayburns' dark secrets and shameful past, pushing his siblings to the limits of family loyalty.

The series stars Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Ben Mendelsohn (The Dark Knight Rises), Linda Cardellini (Mad Men) and Norbert Leo Butz as the Rayburn siblings, and the iconic actress Sissy Spacek as the Rayburn matriarch.

The whole of season one is now available on Netflix so feel free to binge watch as much as you like Grin. Wherever you are up to in the show we’d like you to pop on and off this thread to discuss the series and share with us what your thoughts are! Everyone who takes part in the discussion will be entered into a prize draw to win an iPad Air 2 and a 6 month subscription to Netflix!

Episode seven here, too. I love it. If you've ever read any Pat Conroy novels, it reminds me of those, although the families in the books have their flaws very much on the outside from the start Grin Perhaps it's the beautiful southern setting and the haunting theme tune...

Action in the present is interesting, intrigued to know how what happens in the initial flash-forward comes to pass, but the past is the key.

It doesn't have the humour or snappy one-liners but it's somewhere between Breaking Bad and House of Cards in terms of drama. Thank you Netflix!

BsshBosh · 27/03/2015 21:19

Netflix is excellent for original content and this is the only reason we keep up our subscription. The latest - The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt - is hilarious and can't wait to watch Bloodline soon too.

strawberrisc · 28/03/2015 08:41

I have just finished Broadchurch and American Horror Story so I'll give this one a try!

sliceofsoup · 28/03/2015 12:30

I watched ep8 last night.

Its getting hard to watch. It creates such conflicting feelings in me, sympathy becomes hate. The tables are turning.

Going to binge watch this afternoon.

Nervo · 28/03/2015 16:07

We've watched three episodes now. Rooting for Danny. Really don't like the parents - 'it's all about the faaaaaamily' ala Phil Mitchell.

In the first episode, dh and I couldn't really take it seriously as they were getting all het up about a casual girlfriend being at the faaaaamily table.

I am enjoying the scenery though. And I don't just mean the sister's boyfriend. Wink

I have not got Netflix but from watching the trailer it looks interesting and addictive with such good casting!

tompob · 29/03/2015 09:24

ElizabethHoover · 29/03/2015 10:23

I just adore netflix

if anyone wants a great family show - they need to look at the unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt - also on there. my year 7 son and i raced through it.

Yorkstone · 29/03/2015 14:24

Episode 1: Began by reminding me of a cross between Death in Paradise and Midsomer Murders...but ended feeling darker and more complex! Looking forward to watching Episode 2 but want to watch with my husband so we can share the drama!!

Lolly12 · 29/03/2015 14:46

I've watched the first 3 episodes so far and enjoying it. The flash forwards are a bit chilling but do make you want to keep watching to find out how it got to that stage.

melmoo · 29/03/2015 22:47

Once I've finished the Good Wife then I'll try it unless the husband has other ideas (which may or may not change to outcome)

Hakluyt · 29/03/2015 22:47

You lost me at "wheelbarrow"

Hakluyt · 29/03/2015 22:48

Sorry- wrong thread!

SoupDragon · 30/03/2015 14:54

They were divorced before she "died". She went to South Africa with a new partner I think.

SoupDragon · 30/03/2015 14:55

Ignore that I have no idea how I've posted here Confused

Ramblings · 30/03/2015 15:29

Just tried episode one on Netflix, I'm intrigued but not instantly hooked, I'd like to see where the next episode takes me! Will update when I'm further in to see how it's progressing

sliceofsoup · 31/03/2015 13:15

I finished it last night.

Loved the ending, and the conversation between the detective and Sally. Can't wait for Season 2.

There better be a Season 2.

happysouls · 31/03/2015 15:53

That sounds like one to look out for, I've not heard of it before. We tend to be a bit behind everyone else and we save things up so that we can binge watch entire series of things.

shannie · 31/03/2015 22:14

Watched it over 2 weekends and loved it. Nearly gave up at episode 3 because we thought it was a bit cheesy. Glad we ( dh and I) kept watching. Great interview on womans hour with Sissy Spacek ( the mother) too.

samosh22 · 01/04/2015 06:57

Breaking Bad is awesome

zippyants · 01/04/2015 12:17

Could be worth signing up to the trial to watch. Need something after finishing 24!

mumsbe · 01/04/2015 13:09

I am looking forward to watching this so I am saving the episodes up and going to bing watch

monkeygambler · 01/04/2015 14:32

This looks awesome!

shinynewnamechange · 01/04/2015 16:39

SPOILER:

Watching this an episode a night with DH and we are 4 in, I always look forward to NETFLIX originals because they tend to be quirky, watchable and really well made.

No exception so far, I've gone from really disliking Danny and Kevin to loving Kevin and understanding (while still not liking) Danny and wanting to punch his old man in the face. Can't wait to see how it all pans out, wondering how the people trafficing is going to wind its way in, worried about Danny being blamed when he didn't really know what was going on, but I guess that if you are going to commit a crime you are open to the consequences really.

Generally awesome so far, bit annoying I keep falling asleep 10 minutes before the end though because 3 non sleeping DDs is killing me. Need to keep sneaking the last 10 minutes in the following days nap times to catch up with DH!

pepicola3 · 02/04/2015 00:02

Always on the lookout for a good new series - looks very interesting
