Nurofen for Children have asked us to find out which special privileges and treats you use to distract your DC when they’re under the weather.

Here’s what Nurofen for Children have to say: “Our research shows that a quarter of parents find the health of their child the most difficult subject to make decisions on. As parents, you want health advice you can trust. Nurofen for Children is trusted by parents - 9/10 parents who used it would recommend it to a friend*. If your child is struck down with cold, pain or fever, Nurofen for Children offers products to help manage their symptoms. It starts to work in just 15 minutes to bring down a temperature and is clinically proven to last longer than paracetemol to relieve a fever.”

So, what do you let your DC's get away with when they're feeling under the weather? For example, are they allowed to watch TV or play with consoles for longer? Or are they allowed to eat as many sugary snacks as they like? Do you have any special games or inspired tips to keep them entertained when they're poorly?

Tell us how you spoil your kids when they're poorly and you'll be entered into a prize draw to win a £250 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

devans79 · 05/03/2015 13:59

well, they do seem to get away with more when they pull on your heart strings. little things like staying up later for night time cuddles to special dinners . you just want them to get better as quickly as possible, i am sure extra special treatment helps

katieskatie82 · 05/03/2015 14:24

I BUNDLE MY LITTLE BOY IN BLANKETS ON THE SOFA AND LET HIM WATCH HIS FAVORITE PROGRAMMES WHEN HE'S ILL. I MAKE A BIT OF A FUSS OF HIM AND MAKE HIM FEEL LIKE HES MY SPECIAL PATIENT! LOL

beano54 · 05/03/2015 14:54

i let them watch their favourite shows tucked up in a nice warm duvet.

topsy73 · 05/03/2015 15:04

I shower them with something money cannot buy, unreserved love and endless cuddles and kisses on their sore bits x

Gadgaddy · 05/03/2015 15:05

Hate my babies being unwell, if they are my world stops and it's just cuddle overload until they feel better xxx

mizzkeane · 05/03/2015 15:27

i get him all snuggled up under a blanket with mummy , warm chocolate milk in his bottle , and a bag of marshmellows watching frozen ! his favourite film xx

baconbap · 05/03/2015 16:09

I would make favourite foods, and snuggle with them under the duvet in my room or on sofa and allow them to watch thier favourite shows/films.

mummyto2boys01 · 05/03/2015 16:44

My boys definitely love snuggling up on the sofa with me when they're feeling poorly

NelAllan · 05/03/2015 17:19

I usually let them off their chores, for example I wouldn't ask them to make their bed. They also get what I call sofa treatment when they're very poorly. This means they get to wear PJs all day and stay on the sofa under a duvet watching TV or reading. They're not allowed to play video games etc though.

netty1974 · 05/03/2015 17:20

When my little boy is under the weather we make an emergency medical tent(A blanket draped over 4 chairs)we use a bow up double matress and make it all snugly with cushions and duvets and we watch c beebies cuddling up c

lucybarrell · 05/03/2015 17:41

I let my children get away with a lot when they are not well they can play on their games watch tv and also eat biscuits in y eyes its something in their belly to help the get better

AndHarry · 05/03/2015 17:41

My two are quite mini (2 and 5) so even when they're ill they don't realise that they need to slow down. Generally I let them watch as many DVDs as they want, buy the fruit they always like to keep them hydrated and tuck them into bed with me for naps and, for the 2yo, overnight.

birdfrombelfast · 05/03/2015 17:54

My kids get away with quite a bit when they are poorly. They get control of the T.V. even if I have to watch frozen on repeat. I do let them eat more sweeties than usual although not to excess. What really annoys my hubby is that I let them in to our bed. We usually go to bed early and watch a film and I let them stay.

emmav6 · 05/03/2015 18:11

too much tv time & snuggles in bed with mummy :)

Kangakate · 05/03/2015 18:19

They get to watch more tv, since they can't go out, it keeps them entertained and their mind off their illness. If they have tummy upsets and unwilling to eat, I tend to let them pick what they want to eat, so that they eat something (within reason)

Isis1981uk · 05/03/2015 18:21

I let my son fall asleep in our bed rather than his, and sit up later for cuddles.

vicks276 · 05/03/2015 18:37

Lots of films and treats x

balloon66 · 05/03/2015 18:56

It depends how poorly they are but its not too bad we curl up together on the sofa and watch disney films. Anything more they normally sleep all day.

FUZZ62 · 05/03/2015 18:59

1 thing comes to mind, one asked for ice cream in the bath as he had a sore throat, ...hehe easy way to let him have a wash without forcing him in the bath!

toodles60 · 05/03/2015 19:09

Disney, warm chocolate milk and cuddles. The three ways my kids have always loved.

nicctaylor · 05/03/2015 19:12

i always bundle them up on the sofa and let them watch Disney films and if they are up to it a nice bowl of ice cream and sprinkles.
