The time has come for the insight team at MNHQ to do our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year!

(In case you don't know insight covers surveys, product events, product tests and sponsored threads on MN, as well as bloggers reviews, and reviewers recruitment)

Read on for the chance to win...
~ A £100 giftcard to spend at M&S or
~ one of four £50 giftcards for Bella Italia

In 2014, we have given away around £40,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers but also including plumbing jobs, products but also Cetraben excema cream!

The range of products you have tested and given feedback on is as varied as ever – from Miele vacs, TomTom’s Go 5000 sat nav and Microsoft's Lumia 735, Xbox One Console and Linx tablet to Barny cakes and Ambrosia mini pots!

Plus we were thrilled when Mumsnetters had help getting pregnant by participating in the Clearblue Ovulation Test with Dual Hormone Indicator product test Smile.

We have also run some extremely popular threads, enabling you to have your say on wider political issues such as the Scottish Referendum and the Cabinet Office. And really, who would have thought porridge was SUCH an engaging topic?!

We love meeting you face to face – and giving you the chance to experiences something new – from preview screenings of Annie to the family holidays at Butlins and Haven.

And loads of you enjoyed breakfast at Bella Italia with your family and recently some of you had a ‘behind the scenes’ visit to M&S.

There was even the chance to test drive the Renault Zoe, to see the videos click here

For a chance to win one of the vouchers, please share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about. Or tell us what you’d to product test next year?

Most of the product tests are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely (and fast growing) insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do insight sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Grin
Happy Christmas!
AnnMumsnet, LaurelMumsnet, AngelieMumsnet, MichelleMumsnet and KathrynMumsnet.

WOW What a huge amount of prizes, giveaways Mumsnet have had. One of the best things about this year at Mumsnets for us as a family have been the great product testing we have been able to do from The Bear Alpha bites which came in a fun box with freebies too which our little ones loved to the hair and food products and many other items too. I really enjoy the competing the surveys and reading the results and feedback from mumsnetters. great reviews on films and books. When i can't sleep its my time to enter as many competitions here as possible ;o) great year at Mums net.

I was lucky enough to test a Karcher Steam Cleaner, which we continue to love and use on a weekly basis. Every time my DH uses it, he says "I'm really so glad you got this thing!"

I love being on the panel, too. It helps keep you abreast of current mum-issues and a chance to change opinion. Here's to 2015!

glentherednosedbattleostrich · 24/12/2014 06:58

We are trying the steam mop. Not been picked much this year, must stockpile the gin to use as bribery for next year!!

I've enjoyed the political debates.

It would be lovely to have more stuff not in London so more of us can attend.

MAsMum · 24/12/2014 07:40

I have been lucky enough to have done some of the smaller trials. It's a lovely feeling receiving a box with unknown contents in the post.

I would love to trial more products that my 5 year old can actually trial as if nothing else you are guaranteed to get some very honest practical views plus it's fun doing things together with him.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 24/12/2014 07:47

I've really enjoyed being part of the panel; it's great to have an opportunity to feedback on things and hopefully have a positive influence.

I've tested some smaller products such as nappies and pantyliners- it was nice to receive fee samples in exchange for comments and it's good to see what new & upcoming products are available.

I enjoy doing surveys so have completed many over the past year.
Suffice to say I haven't been chosen as a winner yet but fingers crossed for next year! Smile

Uzma01 · 24/12/2014 08:09

It's been a fab year - with lots of product tests including the Bella Italia brunch, Bear Cereals, LowLow snack pack, nappy testing and the Clearblue Ovulation kit test. Plus received several books from the book club. Many thanks.

I'm expecting my third child now so more baby related things would be great plus activities for toddlers - at home or out & about. Arty things; more food stuff (especially chocolate!) and clothing would be good.

honeysucklejasmine · 24/12/2014 08:10

I am super excited to try my Stork, which are sitting ready for ovulation day. I never thought that on a website i would meet loads of lovely ladies, have a good laugh and get awesome freebies to try! Fantastic!

I love the range of trials etc available so I'd say more of the same please!

honeysucklejasmine · 24/12/2014 08:12

Oh, I'd love to try cloth nappies, but if you could wait for the stork to do it's work and then 9 months, that would be great! Grin

SweetPeaPods · 24/12/2014 08:35

I've enjoyed being on the panel thank you.
Next year I would like to see more baby and toddler stuff or little treats for me Wink

MrsPennyapple · 24/12/2014 08:37

I've tested nappies and custard, although not together. I'd love to test a steam cleaner, or anything Miele!

I quite enjoy doing the surveys, they usually only take a few minutes, although as another poster mentioned, they often ask about which ads you've seen online, and I never see any! Or never notice them, anyway.

helenthemadex · 24/12/2014 09:03

I have really enjoyed being part of the panel, its good to be part of something that potentially helps to shape products and services

my favourite was the tomtom, far better than the old one I have

XmasTimeMissCostelloAndWine · 24/12/2014 09:16

I've been pleasantly surprised by how many of the surveys etc. are suitable for those without children, I was expecting not to be able to participate in many things! Xmas Smile

BeautyQueenFromMars · 24/12/2014 09:16

I've never been chosen to test anything Sad

But I'll stick around and hopefully will be able to test something and give feedback next year Smile

Kathderoet · 24/12/2014 09:50

I really enjoy doing the surveys, they are always varied and interesting. Haven't been lucky enough to do a product test yet but would love to trial one of the new lighter vacuum cleaners.

starfishmummy · 24/12/2014 09:55

Being on the panel is not time consuming at all and its good to get an opportunity to do product tests....althkugh I habent been lucky this year :-(

Happy christmas

ouryve · 24/12/2014 10:05

We've enjoyed testing the youview box. I was disappointed that I oculdn't try for it, the first time around, but we now have fibre broadband and the test came at jsut the right time to see what we can do with it.

Definitely need more tests that cater for families with older kids. Mine are 8 and 11, now and my willing, opinionated tester has been on the verge of being too old for a few things.

Amma2010 · 24/12/2014 10:31

I e motorcycling a few surveys and entering some competitions. So far haven't had much luck but maybe in the new year:)
Would love it if you could have home security systems as a product test and also child and breast feeding friendly cafe and restaurants for mumsnetters to rate.

Theimpossiblegirl · 24/12/2014 10:32

How could I forget Happy Height Day at Thorpe park and the Angry Birds event afterwards- they were brilliant! Thanks again.

glammanana · 24/12/2014 10:46

Its a privilage to be part of the "Insight Team" and it certainly makes you much more aware of products out there when they first come on to the market.
I've been lucky this year to have tried and tested a couple of products & taken part in nearly all the surveys which I do enjoy some of the questions do in fact make you view the product in a different light :ie who would you buy this for "male or female" ? it does make you think your choice better, here's too an eventful 2015 for everyone enjoy !! Xmas Smile

andnowforsomemoreofthesame · 24/12/2014 11:26

I only tested the active baby pampers nappies. There was a big delay on sending the nappies, but as my DS is not a new baby (and doesn't grow as fast as a newborn), it wasn't a problem for me, and I liked the product.

I'm just a tad frustrated that I've never won a single voucher, despite answering all the surveys I was eligible for. I appreciate that giving 100 pound vouchers to everyone wouldn't make sense economically, but on the other hand I know how valuable mnetter's input can be for the brands, so I think they could be a bit more generous :)

andnowforsomemoreofthesame · 24/12/2014 11:27

BTW, I've name changed recently, and I usually answer the surveys using my old name.

AugustRose · 24/12/2014 13:02

I have enjoyed being on the panel and taking part, as we have 4 children between 3 - 18 it means we fit in to most categories for the surveys.

My only disappointment (probably not the right word) is that a lot of the surveys are obviously brand sponsored but as a family that is not brand loyal I often feel my answers are irrelevant. Brands are only bought if they are on offer and not because I think they are better quality.

Anyway, it's been fun and I hope to continue taking part, I like it when you give feedback on certain themes like the 'women in parliament' questions. It was good to see what others think and hopefully we can help make changes to our own future :)

nerysw · 24/12/2014 14:28

Merry Christmas to you all. I tested a photobook - it of a trial but the result was fantastic. Can't wait for my mum and dad to open it tomorrow. Please keep up the tests, would love to do another.

Hopezibah · 24/12/2014 14:48

I don't think we got to test out any of the 'bigger' products this year but have really enjoyed taking part with the product trials of other things like Bear cereals and Tena lights. i love the fact you get to test out products that you might not otherwise think of trying and then you go onto buy them again and again.

I love giving feedback on the threads as it is good to read a variety of opinions and it helps give a balanced view of pros and cons.

Really enjoy the mumsnet competitions or where there is a prize draw for giving feedback.

thanks for all your hardwork mumsnet - Here's to a fabulous 2015!!!

debbriana · 24/12/2014 15:04

I have not been on this website for a long time and seems I missed a lot. Next year I will stay tuned to what is going on and hopefully will win things. Have a merry Xmas and a happy new year.
