The time has come for the insight team at MNHQ to do our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year!

(In case you don't know insight covers surveys, product events, product tests and sponsored threads on MN, as well as bloggers reviews, and reviewers recruitment)

Read on for the chance to win...
~ A £100 giftcard to spend at M&S or
~ one of four £50 giftcards for Bella Italia

In 2014, we have given away around £40,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers but also including plumbing jobs, products but also Cetraben excema cream!

The range of products you have tested and given feedback on is as varied as ever – from Miele vacs, TomTom’s Go 5000 sat nav and Microsoft's Lumia 735, Xbox One Console and Linx tablet to Barny cakes and Ambrosia mini pots!

Plus we were thrilled when Mumsnetters had help getting pregnant by participating in the Clearblue Ovulation Test with Dual Hormone Indicator product test Smile.

We have also run some extremely popular threads, enabling you to have your say on wider political issues such as the Scottish Referendum and the Cabinet Office. And really, who would have thought porridge was SUCH an engaging topic?!

We love meeting you face to face – and giving you the chance to experiences something new – from preview screenings of Annie to the family holidays at Butlins and Haven.

And loads of you enjoyed breakfast at Bella Italia with your family and recently some of you had a ‘behind the scenes’ visit to M&S.

There was even the chance to test drive the Renault Zoe, to see the videos click here

For a chance to win one of the vouchers, please share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about. Or tell us what you’d to product test next year?

Most of the product tests are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely (and fast growing) insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do insight sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Grin
Happy Christmas!
AnnMumsnet, LaurelMumsnet, AngelieMumsnet, MichelleMumsnet and KathrynMumsnet.

I was lucky enough to be chosen for the Thorpe Park experience. It was AMAZING and we have certainly used the tickets again.
Thank you so much and if you are looking for more ideas may I suggest wine testing or a gin factory tour?!Grin

Happy Christmas to you all.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 23/12/2014 16:11

I would love a % off voucher for answering rather than the lure of a prize.
I have tested a few things but the best was the innocent smoothies.

imalostcause · 23/12/2014 16:14

I love testing stuff Smile Thanks for choosing me to test the smartphone and steam cleaner Smile

Things I'd like to see in the new year - pod coffee machines, tablets like Galaxy, iPad would be interesting to compare, also holidays, food stuffs, chocolate!

Agree with other poster that testing items for teens would be great as they are so difficult to choose for.

NettleTea · 23/12/2014 16:15

we have really enjoyed being on the panel - the highlight was probably the Happy Height day at Thorpe Park (and the year passes allowed us to do Fright Night for my daughters birthday treat!)
currently testing out a Miele vacuum cleaner, and waiting on some chocolates!
I enjoy the surveys, and my kids enjoy the ones that they can add their views to - they are obviously catching the bug too.

NettleTea · 23/12/2014 16:16

oh yes, and we enjoyed welcoming a lovely family to our glampsite, who were winners in one of the Toyota competitions

mrscumberbatch · 23/12/2014 16:19

It's been interesting to do, would love to get more surveys for the likes of rail companies/public entities to improve their standards as well as improving brands.

Squtternutbaush · 23/12/2014 16:19

I haven't taken part in any tests in 2014 but I did take part in the cordless Dyson tests in 2012/13 and found the whole thing very easy to do and of course the freebie was much appreciated :o

The surveys are excellent as are the incentives although I've never actually managed to win anything despite doing almost everyone of them but I guess there are A LOT of MNers so statistically its not exactly the best odds but I'll keep going for the sake of a few minutes clicking answers lol.

I would love to be selected to take part in more trials as I enjoyed it and will continue to enter the competitions in vain Wink

yasmin0147 · 23/12/2014 16:22

I loved the baby products test, it was a joy to do, i loved being able to share an experiance with my daughter who helped me test the items. Would love to test some more baby based or toddler products next year.

Nottheshrinkingcapgrandpa · 23/12/2014 16:23

I have absolutely loved the product testing, esp the Bear Alphabites which my eldest now wants me to buy all the time!

ElviraCondomine · 23/12/2014 16:23

My highlight was my teen winning a big back of teen and young adult books from random house in return for her discerning comments on their covers! It was lovely to see something aimed at that age group for a change.

sirifischerhansen · 23/12/2014 16:25

I really enjoyed testing the photo book, it was an interesting challenge getting to grips with the software and I produced a lovely book of photos of my year to give my father who is in a nursing home and enjoys hearing about my activities

MissisG · 23/12/2014 16:26

Am fairly new to MN surveys and so I haven't trialled anything yet but I'm really looking forward to trying lots of things next year. It looks really exciting!

YaMasYaDaWithAWigOn · 23/12/2014 16:26

I've enjoyed being on this panel, the surveys hardly take any time at all so it's no bother filling them in. Plus I was lucky enough to win a £50 voucher which came in very handy for Christmas! Looking forward to more next year and hopefully being selected for a product test.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/12/2014 16:27

Love being a panel member. I think that the Sainsbury's phone is going to prove to be the best thing from it, now I'm finally working out how to use it!

I'd love to see more make up try-outs and also anything for teenagers.

SecretSquirrels · 23/12/2014 16:27

I do lots of surveys but the only test I have been eligible for / invited to do was for some vitamin tablets. DS2 dutifully took them and we did the feedback.
I also think that MN does now have a lot of families with teenagers and they are a huge target for marketing.
I do think the surveys tend to focus on our response to advertising and I always want to answer I never watch or read adverts. Ever.
I also never win anything. Wonder whether you have to answer in a particular way to win?

miljones1 · 23/12/2014 16:28

I tried the CIF bathroom cleaner - and was pleasantly suprised! Even my daughter enjoys cleaning the floor now!

rallytog1 · 23/12/2014 16:30

I've enjoyed it too. I joined partway through the year but have already benefited from some free stair gates (yay) and free nappies for my toddler.
The only constructive feedback I'd give is that sometimes the eligibility criteria for tests could be clearer - I was selected for an energy monitor test which it looked like I met all the criteria for, but after the products had been sent to me, it turned out that installation was needed which meant it wasn't suitable for tenants. So that was a bit of a shame!

MisForMumNotMaid · 23/12/2014 16:32

I've got my first product test through - chocolate. Yeh! Who wants to be cleaning when there's chocolate to be eaten.

Happy Christmas.

BearFrills · 23/12/2014 16:34

I've enjoyed the product tests, our favourite was Bella Italia breakfast and we've been there a couple of times since for lunch when out shopping. I also enjoyed the most recent nappies test, we had Kruidvat (?) ones and they were amazing but they've all run our and I don't know where I can buy more from!

I'd like to do.mystery shopping, especially to assess family friendliness, customer service, accessibility, etc. Also insight groups from existing brands on how they could improve or what new products or services we would we like to see.

Thank you for letting me be on the panel :)

MummyConstant · 23/12/2014 16:38

I have thoroughly enjoyed being on the panel: assisting in surveys about upcoming products and answering surveys discussing what we as a family get up to. I love the fact that Mumsnet helps families out too by getting this feedback. For example the Michelin project. The feedback from the surveys created an abundance of information which helped direct Mumsnet into helping us Mums out with what was important to know.
I have been involved as a blogger too, for two projects, Tena and Michelin. Both were great projects, inspiration for writing and with Tena forced me to try a new product that I really love. They are great and come in extremely handy with this cold this week, need I say more!
I am really hoping that I can get more involved in the new year and get more presence in the forums. I have only been on the panel for a month or so but I love it. Nice to know our opinions are appreciated.

Thanks Mumsnet. Merry Christmas x

ILoveMyCaravan · 23/12/2014 16:39

I've thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Mumsnet Insight this year.

For the future, I would like to see more product tests/surveys/days out aimed at older children (11 - 18).

Merry Christmas!

rubycon · 23/12/2014 16:43

I've happily done a few surveys - those I'm qualified for! I had an interesting time testing Tena and could happily report I didn't have any oops moments ....! And I'm eagerly awaiting the next one as I'm eminently qualified for it - and some would say over qualified by the state of my waistline!!

Here's to a Happy New Year by joining in on a few more - it's something to look forward to. A very Merry Christmas to all at MNHQ.

auntielaraine · 23/12/2014 16:46

Wow - not sure if I am on same panel - lots of surveys completed especially a great 'secret' chocolate one with lots of goodies!! Also seem to receive a good amount of free books - great - here's to 2015 - cheers ??

yazzy85 · 23/12/2014 16:47

It was our first tume being on the panel and we really enjoyed it. It has been a great opportunity for us from testing new products to having our opinions heard! Hope to participate again in the future ?

sharond101 · 23/12/2014 16:47

I really enjoyed reading about the ovulation tests. I enjoyed testing the Flora spread and getting messy in the kitchen.
