Netflix would like to know how you’ll be spending your time now that the kids are back at school. Maybe you’ll be finishing that blog post you started writing two months ago. Or perhaps you’ll be finally making use of your neglected gym membership. Or you might want treat yourself to a precious moment relaxing with your feet up, a cup of tea and your favourite Netflix show.

Netflix is available anywhere where there’s a Wi-Fi connection, and can be watched on numerous devices, including mobiles, tablets, smart TVs and games consoles. With a huge selection of quality films and award-winning TV shows, including access to Netflix’s exclusive original programmes, there’s always something new to discover.

You can see how other mums are using Netflix by visiting the Netflix Bloggers page here.

So, how will you be using Netflix now that you have a bit more time to yourself? Do you work part-time and savour your afternoons relaxing after a hectic morning by indulging in an episode of Suits? Are you grabbing an hour to yourself catching up on Orange is the New Black on your iPad while luxuriating in the bathtub? Once the kids are safely tucked up in bed, are you and your DH enjoying binge-watching the final season of The Killing on your smart TV? Whatever it is, Netflix would love to hear about it!

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £250 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,

I love that as a busy parent I can dip in and out of stuff without worrying about missing anything. I recently had a very rare weekend to myself and spent the entire time just watching orange is the new black...it was the best time I'd had in ages!

laurapotz · 26/09/2014 20:13

I don't have time to watch Netflix as my little one is only 1 year old and keeps me on the go constantly! :(

PoirotsMoustache · 27/09/2014 08:43

DH and I use it on our mobiles separately to watch programmes the other one doesn't like, or we watch it together on the PC. I tend to watch box sets, DH watches films and box sets. We're currently watching Psych and Prison Break together.
We have 2 DSs between us. The older one uses it to watch films, the younger rarely watches it at all but tends to watch kids programmes when he does.

Russky · 27/09/2014 12:19

Netflix is brilliant for TV series. At the moment I am hooked on Orange is New Black. But I also want to watch the whole of Breaking Bad again. It's an excellent series and Netflix is the only place you can catch it. So thank you Netflix for bringing BB to the UK audience!

mamavsteacher · 27/09/2014 15:35

Now that I'm back at work full time, I use Netflix to watch programmes and films at my own pace in bed! I might only watch 20 minutes but I love that it's easy to load up exactly where I left off without any effort on my part.

ataraxia · 27/09/2014 22:42

I havent got Netflix as I#m waiting til I get a new house so I can really settle down & make the most of it, but once all sorted I'm hoping West Wing is available because I'm desperate to watch the final series!

ninetynineonehundred · 28/09/2014 15:51

I'm using Netflix while baby sleeps on me
It's the first time since she was born that we've been able to spend time just the two of us since she was born so it's a very special time

buckley1983 · 28/09/2014 23:21

We can't wait to get stuck into a few good box sets - top of our list is 'The Returned' & 'Boardwalk Empire'. Can't beat a good series - only problem is knowing when to draw the line & go to bed.. many an evening has been spent debating we should watch 'just one more episode' on Netflix! :)

SuedeEffectPochette · 29/09/2014 23:11

i will be cleaning the house slowly, which I have sadly neglected over the Summer Holiday!

alphacole1811 · 01/10/2014 12:30

although we have netflix, i would like to watch sci-fi films but netflix do not provide a genre menu i.e. sci-fi, drama, rom-com etc, which i find off putting when trying to find a film to watch Tardis

spiroo · 01/10/2014 19:37

I do not have netflix as am not sure if it benefit to me as I notice new addititional channels on freeview, they do not bother to include subtitile. :(

MrsIgglePiggle · 02/10/2014 21:07

I will be scouring Netflix to find a replacement for Breaking Bad!

melj77 · 03/10/2014 02:26

We certainly love Netflicks in this house. I start the day dancing and singing with Barney or the BubbleGuppies. We might have a few adventures with Thomas the tank engine or Fireman Sam. When it comes to Isaacs nap time , I am in charge of the remote control. I like to watch things that I had wished I had watched or missed when they was aired , Mr Selfridge, Downton Abbey. If I need a cheer up I go for a bit of classic comedy , Royal Family , Bottom, Faulty Towers . I have watched The inbetweeners so much I know the words , and Maranda the same. After my 10 year old son comes home , it is a marathon of I Carly or he loves the wide range of Nature programmes . We are spoilt of choice to pick a early evening movie for all the family. Then when the boys are in bed it's my turn again , the ironing board goes up and I choose a movie, maybe something new that I haven't seen or a old classic , Ghost, Rain man, Forrest Gump. Netflicks is wonderful ,I don't know what we did without it.

pigsinmud · 03/10/2014 12:35

Coffee and Bates Motel here.

nerysw · 03/10/2014 13:23

The weather's so sunny and nice still (I went out with no coat today and it's October!) I haven't thought about spending more time watching telly yet.

MrsFifty2 · 03/10/2014 13:34

We've cancelled our Sky TV package so we're thinking of Netflix as an alternative – going to try Homelands as a boxset if it's available...

Polwol · 06/10/2014 02:14

I will be using Netflix regularly now the sun has gone into hibernation, to drown a lot of my free time under a snuggle blanket in front the fire. Mainly watching new series' (when I can prize the ipad off the children that is as Netflix kids is hugely popular in my household any time of the year :)

SeattleGraceMercyDeath · 07/10/2014 19:48

Now my youngest has gone off to big school I dedicate around one hour per day to catching up on my new netflix addiction that is Royal Pains. I've also got DH into the walking dead so we're busily making our way through season 4 in preparation for season 5 starting on TV next week.

pieceofpurplesky · 07/10/2014 20:26

Netflix had been my saviour after my ten year old son had a breakdown following his Dad walking out. DS has been devastated and attempted suicide - part of his recovery has been to realise he is loved and we have spent many hours whilst he has been unable to go out watching lots of movies and TV Shows from the Littlest Vampire to The Hunger Games and Goosebumps. Mummy has happily been watching Orange is the New Black in the early Hours to escape from life. Thank you Netflix for helping us through

Fizzyplonk · 07/10/2014 21:54

DH and I have started watching Sons of Anarchy and Orange is the new black. It's great to get time together without leaving the house/needing babysitters. It's cheaper than buying box sets and less clutter! Hope you get some more series like Vikings.

Also love the documentaries- Louis Theroux and all the Ted Talks.

Oh and for the kids please bring back Wonderpets!

daisydaisy75 · 08/10/2014 07:33

I use Netflix mainly for relaxing purposes as i don't have that much time. So far love it and can't wait for my next movie.

We looove netflix in this house.

We don't actually have "regular TV" any more, and we just get by with netflix on its own. It has loads of things we love, but the best for me is the way it helps you discover new programs through the suggestions.

We user ours all the time, but the best when we go to visit my dear old mum. She doesn't have the internet and Netflix even works through phone GPRS internet too... though it;s not reccomended unless you get it free with contract.

We'll use ours for everything, tv, movies, and helping the child fall asleep.

RAFdad · 08/10/2014 20:27

I use Netflix when I'm away on business etc as its always good to have a few US drama series under your belt when you've had enough homework (yes I still get homework in the RAF)
