We all sometimes wish we had some extra time in the day, and we've been asked by Cif to find out what Mumsnetters would do with a spare 20 minutes.

Here's what Cif have to say, "Our latest cleaning product - Cif Express Direct to Floor can be used direct on the floor and small surfaces for a sparkling clean home. It leaves a long lasting and fresh fragrance. It's suitable for tiled, laminate and washable/ varnished wood floors. To use, you simply squirt the product directly onto the floor, then wipe with a damp mop, there's no need to rinse and it dries really fast! Now available in Antibacterial, Lemon & Apple Flowers and Wild Orchid & Velvet flowers, the RRP is £2.00 for 750 ml."

Check out the MNers review video here (and check out their feedback here):

Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner saves you time, so Cif would love to know what you would you do with a spare 20 mins each week.

How would you spend those extra 20 minutes? Maybe you'd have a lie in? Or watch an extra episode of your favourite sitcom? Perhaps you'd read a chapter or two of a new book?

Whatever you would do with your spare 20 minutes, Cif would love to hear about it.

Everyone who adds a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £250 voucher for the store of their choice*.

Thanks and good luck,

I'd be checking the Christmas bargains list on Mumsnet and getting lost in the sales.

missorinoco · 12/06/2014 21:26

How would I like to spend the 20 minutes. Sitting in peace with a hot cup of tea, (emphasis on hot, I haven't been distracted and let it go cold), and a book.

How would I spend it in reality? Probably zapping around doing a bit more cleaning, seeing as Cif doesn't work the vacuum cleaner for me.

scottishmummy · 12/06/2014 21:28

Immerse myself face first in a bun,and sluuuurp hot tea

NK5BM3 · 12/06/2014 21:29

Sleep. Or go for a short massage, facial.

SaltySeaBird · 12/06/2014 21:37

Polish the house. I so rarely get to do it that there is a thick later of dust everywhere. I fantasise about having a child and work free day to do a proper tidy.

Interestingly my DH just asked if I was texting my sister back and I said no, I'm replying to a thread on MN about what I would do with a spare 20 mins in my life. Without telling him what I put, and totally unprompted he said with 20 mins spare he would hoover the house.

(He normally hoovers, again it doesn't get done very often as toddler plus two working parents = serious lack of time)

BoysWillGrow · 12/06/2014 21:41

Close the curtains, fresh bedding on the bed, and just lay down and just be left be for a while. Bliss.

scrivette · 12/06/2014 21:45

I would like to sit on the swing in the garden, overlooking the pond and eat an ice cream with soon to be 3 years old DS, then read a book with him and sing some songs

Working full time means that I don't spend as much time with him as I would like.

letsgetreadytoramble · 12/06/2014 21:46

I'd update my son's baby book, which I think I last did about a year ago. There are so many lovely things he does and I try to quickly tap them into my phone when they happen, but I never have spare time to transfer them to his book.

ouryve · 12/06/2014 22:03

Not sure I spend 20 minutes a week mopping the floor, as it is. Or per month Blush

justmuddlingalong · 12/06/2014 22:03

I would sort out my wardrobe. There are clothes in there which are too small, others which would not look out of place in a retro shop and some that fell off of their coat hangers approximately 3 years ago...and are still languishing on the bottom of the wardrobe.

NorbertDentressangle · 12/06/2014 22:06

If it was a spare 20mins whilst I was already out and about it would be a coffee at Neros and some people watching.

If at home, 20mins in the garden relaxing with a book and a cup of tea/coffee/G&T/wine.

itisntme · 12/06/2014 22:13

Probably waste it!

Spirael · 12/06/2014 22:17

I'd either sleep or, if fully rested, spend some quality time with DD1 doing something of her choosing.

stinkingbishop · 12/06/2014 22:29

I would make the dizzying leap from one snatched bath a week to a positively luxurious two. Possibly I'd even run my own water for it rather than just jumping in after the twins Smile.

chocolateshoes · 12/06/2014 22:30

Watch some rubbish tv and not feel guilty!

Keepcalmanddrinkwine · 12/06/2014 22:37

20 minutes to myself? I'd probably sit out in the garden with a book and a cup of tea.

WilliamShatner · 12/06/2014 22:37

I'd write a letter to my parents. A phone call and an email are not the same as receiving a hand written letter in the post.

I live nearly 300 miles away and they often send notes or cards and I always reply by phone. Sitting down and giving them an update by putting pen to paper would be a great way to spend twenty minutes.

iwanttobeadragonthisyear · 12/06/2014 22:44

Straighten my hair Or shave Or most likely sleep!

GetKnitted · 12/06/2014 23:01

radio 4 in peace Grin Grin

PandaFeet · 12/06/2014 23:18

I would blow dry my hair, properly, in sections. And straighten it. Instead of just sticking it in a bun.

mamato3lads · 12/06/2014 23:58

Save myself from any further shame at the school gates.

To explain, if I was graced with the impossible dream of 20 whole minutes to myself, I would sit down and Paint My Nails.

It is always the thing that gets put off until tomorrow because I am too tired or one of my 3 sons is a) battling bedtime b) pretending to suddenly feel incredibly ill c) destroying something.

The result? Frazzled me and chipped nails which look horrible and which l inevitably forget to hide when chatting to my (on the whole, well manicured) friends at the school gates.

Save Me Confused

WhenDoISleep · 13/06/2014 00:00

20 mins spare - I'd have a nap.

However, with an active toddler to look after, that is not going to happen, so it would most likely be spent playing with them.

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 13/06/2014 00:06

Knowing me I would probably spend it dithering about what to spend a spare 20 minutes on Sad Grin There are so MANY things I would like to be able to do more of!

scotchtikidoll · 13/06/2014 04:01

I would maybe take the time to actually filter a cup of freshly ground coffee instead of the freeze dried granules that I am now accustomed to. And I'd get to drink it too

Ragwort · 13/06/2014 07:11

scotch - I feel sad reading that, I make the time to have freshly ground coffee every morning - I'm on my second cup now - life without decent coffee must be very hard. Sad.

These sorts of threads always make me feel very lazy, I work just three days a week, made a conscious decision to have just one child (now a teen) and seem to have plenty of time to sit and read a book Blush. Also I have incredibly low standards when it comes to housework Grin.
