Warner Brothers have asked us to find out what Mumsnetters and their DCs think of the trailer for the upcoming Lego Movie.

Here's what Warner Brothers have to say, "The LEGO® Movie is the first-ever, full-length LEGO® cinema adventure and is released on February 14th, perfectly timed for half term! The story follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers, including many iconic characters such as Batman and Superman, on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared. The cast includes Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman and we'd love to know Mumsnetters' thoughts on the trailer.”

You can watch the trailer here.

So what did you think of the trailer? What are your thoughts on the characters and voice overs? What about your DCs? Which part of the trailer did you like the most? Do you think you’ll be likely to take your LOs to see the film when it’s released?

Whatever your thoughts, Warner Brothers would love to hear about them!

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive £150 worth of cinema vouchers.

Please note your comments may be included on Warner Brothers' social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

I can't believe a Lego film hasn't been made before, this looks amazing and my daughter who is a huge Lego fan will be blown away!

mammalove · 07/11/2013 21:09

Just got the thumbs up from my two (12 and 15) Quote "It made me all different kinds of happy watching the trailer" "There are no amount of words to describe this film" Chuckles all round :-)

Bubbles85 · 07/11/2013 21:30

Hmm it's not for me... However, it looks like I don't get a say as my best friend's son is obsessed with Lego and apparently we all have to go and see it!

foxy6 · 07/11/2013 21:31

my six yr old wants to watch it and thinks it looks fun. he loves batman.
i will definitely be taking him and probably my 17yr old to watch that. they both love the same things.

Glittertwins · 07/11/2013 21:58

All of us loved the trailer and the DTs can't wait to see it at the cinema. They have seen a slightly different trailer at the cinema already and at Legoland.
We will be taking them to see it.

ShiverMeWhiskers · 07/11/2013 22:01

We are very excited about this in our house! Can't wait to see it. Admittedly, we are huge Lego fans, DS age 5, is about ready to pop waiting for the Lego Marvel game to come out.
The comedy in lego films/cartoons/games is always brilliant so I am sure this wont disappoint. Having said that, we just finished watching the end of the Ninjago cartoons on Netflix and it was very dramatic. How do they manage to get us to care so much about small plastic people??!

lorka · 07/11/2013 22:08

This looks great. We are Lego fans so will definitely be going to see it at the cinema when it is released. :)

daisybrown · 07/11/2013 23:05

I'm as eager to see this as the kids are. No doubt this will encourage them to play even more Lego than they already do, which can't be a bad thing!

moonbells · 08/11/2013 09:06

I think we will probably watch on DVD, because DS is incredibly sensitive to loud sounds and he hates pop music thanks to holiday club playing it loudly non-stop. (He was crying at the fireworks we went to being too loud.) Cinemas these days seem to want to deafen people.

Having said that, DS is a Legomaniac so will want to see it, so we will go for the compromise.

hunhun007 · 08/11/2013 17:08

I must admit Lincoln is my fav... but what do I know :-)
our 9 years old loved the whole trailer; 5 years old couldn't understand few things - maybe voice is a bit to quiet

ZenOfPetals · 08/11/2013 17:23

DS (11) said "I want to see that movie when it comes out". I liked all of it myself, except the part when the female character spoke to the male, as it sounded like some mad delusion. The music was good. DS said "It is always like that, a guy is unprofessional and does not know what he is doing and the girl is like great at fighting and really awesome and stuff and there is always one part where she is like 'I believe in you', Morgan Freeman always plays those old guys, but his voice is good for an old guy."

wibblyjelly · 08/11/2013 17:40

Wow, this looks -ahem-awesome! I'm about to link the trailer to dh, as this seems like our perfect film. We love all the Lego video games, so this film is perfect for us

Lotstodo · 08/11/2013 17:43

This is brilliant. I'm suprised Lego have not made a film before now. Lego is wonderful and I can't wait to see this film with my children. The colours are really good, realistic and with Lego colours too. However, the dialogue is quite fast and could be lost on very young children but they will still love it.

DinoSnores · 08/11/2013 18:02

The animation is excellent! I'm not sure my 3 year old would be able to follow it, both because it looks pretty fast paced and because the jokes look a bit more sophisticated than what we are used to with Thomas the Tank Engine!

umabritmum · 08/11/2013 18:03

Saw the The LEGO® Movie trailer several times and it really sounds funny. LEGO blocks are a part of my children toys and they got excited on seeing their minifigures to life.

The trailer has so much mini details but very fast to follow. Great casting by the Lego team using their Lego Toys.

The music sounds good to the ears but the expression with other animated movies like Cars , Toy Story which has special expressive nature lacks here. The expression shown in this Movie pertains to the pencil drawings but this is expected with that of Lego Toy. Overall, the whole movie should be funny with not so special Lego Emment turning special.

I like the scenes that are funny like Lego Emmet exercising in his bedroom, overpriced coffee, batman scenes, Lego Emmet is said to have every reasons to be special and the last scene invisible jet. Damn it! Everything sounds Awesome Smile

I always do take my DCs to see animated movies on big screens. So, I am ready for some Lego fun.

rlouisa · 08/11/2013 18:47

lol...its like they on steroids...i want to watch it!! oh and my son too..

DoctorGilbertson · 08/11/2013 18:52

I thought the trailer silly - I suspect that my son (5) would like a proper serious lego film about lego super heroes saving the world, preferably in rockets, so all the cultural references would completely go past him and I just thought were silly didn't form a coherent narrative and were a sop to the adults.

Suspect I am not the target audience.

I showed the trailer to DS.

He said "can I see it again" and then, when I said no he went off and found his huge lego collection and it sitting next to me while I fill in this review.

helenthemadex · 08/11/2013 19:20

I saw a trailer for this when I was with dd, it looks great fun and DD said she MUST see it

Beccie77 · 08/11/2013 19:47

We love LEGO in our house, and my 8yo is already quoting 'to the batmobile...dang it!' This comes out just after his birthday and he has demanded that is his party, a trip to see the whole film. It is just his and his mates type of humour, and he giggled his little socks off watching the trailer, it was lovely to see. Proper silliness that he can recreate when he is playing over and over again. Love it. Will go and see it. Will probably have learned it off by heart from the DVD by next Christmas.

maloofysmum · 08/11/2013 20:02

Looks fantastic, my kids can't wait and to have such a great cast of voices is brill... now all we need is a full length Star Wars and Indiana Jones then my ds would be in heaven!

katiewalters · 08/11/2013 20:28

It looks funny. My 4year old watched the trailer and was very excited as he is lego mad.

unadulterateddad · 08/11/2013 21:15

Looks good and the voice acting looks a good match - batman and wonderwoman made me chuckle. ME and DS love the lego Starwars cartoons and this looks in the same vein - will definitely go and see it

Schmedz · 08/11/2013 21:22

Cool cast, seems to be very adult friendly humour (which is great in a 'kids' film); appealing little mini fig characters...DH will want to see it because he is LEGO mad so even if the trailer was rubbish, he would still want to go!
Love the fast pace but wonder if it much of the dialogue would go over most children's heads...
Looks to be a clever film..love the spoof Star Wars and LEGO Bible stories but they are much shorter than a full length movie, but there are so many animated films out there, I can't see why one with LEGO figures and set rather than other animated designs won't be just as enjoyable.
Trailer contains enough action to show our family that we would probably enjoy the film without giving too much of the story detail away...it does make us want to see the film.

nerysw · 09/11/2013 06:41

I've just watched the trailer and was thinking 'Lego movie, pah, what a dumb idea'. However, I thought it looked brilliant and wasn't expecting it to be so funny! My four year old would really enjoy this and my 2.5 year old watched the trailer and proclaimed it 'awesome' (new word). We'll probably just wait for the DVD as it's a lot easier than a trip to the cinema.

shellshell3 · 09/11/2013 07:38

I cant wait to take my niece it looks great
