The time has come for the insight team at MNHQ to do our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year!

(In case you don't know insight covers surveys, product tests and sponsored threads on MN, as well as bloggers reviews, and reviewers recruitment)

Let us know what you think on this thread and you could win another prize!
We've got:

A Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 worth c£180 courtesy of the team at TalkTalk more details here

A whole years' supply of Aldi nappies from the folks at Aldi - worth c.£500

And thanks to the Royal Academy we have two x 4 adult tickets to their new exhibition showcasing Manet early next year. There are two prizes each of 4 tickets (if children under 12 they will go in free so the winner can invite another 2 adults) - worth £120. More info here

In 2012 we have given away over £25,000 worth of prizes in the form of vouchers, books, beauty products, hampers and technology.
You have tested nearly £70,000 worth of products - including having your DCs put My Little Pony, Chicco toys and Wonderbook Book of Spells to the test.

We've surely made (some of you) look younger or slimmer with product tests for Garnier UltraLift, Origins Plantscription and M&S shapewear. Xmas Wink

We've helped feed the family by trying out the HomeCooker from Jamie and Philips, scoffing Kingsmill Fruit and Fibre bread and helped make dishes tasty by introducing Bisto Stock Melts.

We've got you talking about a range of topics - from baking for the Big Fair Bake, visiting National Trust properties with the family and cleaning with Ecover.

What have you enjoyed taking part in this year? Or appreciated reading about? What would you like us to product test next year?

Most of the product tests are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely research panel. If you are not yet on our panel please see this link for more info or to sign up. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it?s not for you.

So to win one of the lovely prizes please do one of the following:

~ Post on the thread any suggestions for product tests etc you'd like to see next year (no promises but we can try!)
~ Post on the thread to say you have joined the panel

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Grin

Oh and can I just add that I love to read the surveys/tests results and reviews too .I think Mumsnet is brilliant as you get honest opinions which are all published good or not so good reviews so you get a true rating of the product not just the one that a company may want you to read- eg at present I am thinking of upgrading my Dyson so I am reading with interest the Dyson Trial going on at present.
I think it is brilliant that Mumsnet can offer the opportunity to test products to us - xxx

Sizzlesthedog · 04/01/2013 18:09

I've signed up. I read reviews before making big purchases, really like seeing what people say about things, it definatly affects what i spend my money on. The idea of testing something really appeals to me.

fallingandlaughing · 04/01/2013 20:11

Could we have some reviews of foods for people with allergies (I am thinking dairy free chocolate..).

DD has food allergies and it is annoying shelling out for eexpensive foods not knowing if they are any good.

RichTeaAreCrap · 04/01/2013 23:51

I signed up about a year ago and it is really fab. So far I have tested Aveda hair products and also the Method washing liquid. I think its a great way of testing things out before you buy them. I am now a convert to the Method washing liquid I loved it that much.

I love testing and giving my feedback...it makes me feel like a grown up I am helping in some way.

Silverlace · 06/01/2013 20:13

I have really enjoyed testing products and so have my family. There is great excitement when something arrives to try out (especially food!) We really enjoyed the Ambrosia custard but the chocolate porridge sadly wasn't a success. The DC sit round the table very seriously and try out the food and even make notes!

I think it is great that companies use Mumsnet to get the opinion of a wide range of families, I notice that the feedback can be very varied.

I would like to see more food and maybe days out would be a good area to cover. I often think that venues could be better if they had more feedback from families who visit them.

It is great that companies realise how powerful Mumsnet is when all our opinions are gathered together.

I have joined and have enjoyed doing the surveys and have tested the Method Laundry Liquid.
I would be happy to test anything but would love to try out a steam mop!!
Reading through the messages firawla mentioned trying out places locally - I think this sounds like a great idea and one which I would be happy to do!!
Something for the children to review like books, pencils, rucksacks etc would be great too.
Keep up the good work - looking forward to some exciting projects in 2013! :)

lagoonhaze · 06/01/2013 22:34

Just joined the panel. Looking forward to trying some new stuff whilst on maternity leave and proving to myself that I can still string a sentence together... Just about...

KentuckyFriedChildren · 07/01/2013 03:43

I've tested a few things this year but my favourite was the method laundry liquid. It is great! Suggestions for future tests- well I would be happy to test anything really but moisturiser would be good- am struggling to find a decent facial one for less than a tenner, and a lipstick that doesn't dry your lips out if there is such a thing. And chocolate. Lots of chocolate :o

danmoore00 · 07/01/2013 20:33

Loved being on panel have been on maternity leave second half of last years have had more time on my hands to dedicate - have tested Aldi baby products - pleasantly surprised, stockpot melts - with some bonus freebies & methodliquid(love method products). Really enjoyed the opportunities. Would like chance to test more technology products - camera would be lovely. Also something aimed at teenagers or early primary children maybe education focused. Look forward to new products to test in 2013

Gracelo · 08/01/2013 09:22

Just joined.
I would be particularly exited about trying new food products but my house would benefit more from participating in cleaning surveys Blush

kelandab · 08/01/2013 19:04

I've enjoyed taking part in the hundreds ;) of surveys sent through each week... Ok not quite that many but there's been a lot & I love the prize incentives!... Haven't been picked to test anything though... I don't think?

BartletForTeamGB · 08/01/2013 19:04

I can't remember when I joined the panel, but the surveys are interesting. I am particularly proud of winning £100 for answering a survey about ironing when I'd answered that I didn't do any!

It is a while since I have been chosen for any product tests for ages but it is always a nice surprise when I am.

kelandab · 08/01/2013 19:06

...oh and I'd like to see some product tests for older kids, I have an 11 year old girl as well as an 8 year old year girl, I'm sure they could give an opinion on most things.... They certainly like to give me an opinion on what I've served for lunch/dinner!

Sugarkane · 08/01/2013 19:07

Love the panel, I feel the balance of surveys is great, not too many that you get sick of seeing them, but just enough that you think oh I have time to do that wont take me too long.

Would love more product placements but if we are honest who wouldn't? Maybe it would be a good idea to have more runners up prizes on the general survey.

vic1981 · 08/01/2013 19:10

Would like to test out some new tech- Apple vs Micosoft, phones/ tablets etc (hopeful!)

rathlin · 08/01/2013 19:12

I'm a member of the panel and have been involved in a couple of product tests. Really enjoyed them. Would like to be involved in some chocolate product tests.

Nemoandthefishes · 08/01/2013 19:14

I would love to test anything that would help me get more organised. Also any non leaking water bottles as am fed up of dragging my soaked self into work after a bottle has leaked...grr

CommanderShepard · 08/01/2013 19:17

On the Kelo Cote trial - never heard of it but it's fan, so thanks! :)

MrsWeasley · 08/01/2013 19:19

I've enjoyed all the surveys, some of them have really made me think about some issues I take for granted.

Next year, I'd like you to surprise me! ;-)

kayleigh39 · 08/01/2013 19:23

I have enjoyed taking part in the Ecover wipes trial - I have since been buying them.
I have also enjoyed the surveys as It gets me involved and thinking about brands/products.

laughalot · 08/01/2013 19:24

Iv enjoyed most of the surveys would like to see some more tech ones that involve gadgets Smile

Elkieb · 08/01/2013 19:25

This is my first year on mumsnet- so firstly thank you for making me feel normal and helping me survive the first year of parenthood. ?

I have tested Tesco naturally powered non-bio powder, method washing liquid, ecover wipes and fruit and fibre bread. My house should be shining!

I have particularly enjoyed testing the tesco powder and the fruit and fibre bread and will buy these products again.

I would like to test household products in the future, especially cleaning products. I would also be interested in testing new technology and toys.

Happy New Year!

laughalot · 08/01/2013 19:26

Oh and the funniest one was the method liquid as all the instructions where in french I got a apology letter hee hee.
