The time has come for the insight team at MNHQ to do our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year!

(In case you don't know insight covers surveys, product tests and sponsored threads on MN, as well as bloggers reviews, and reviewers recruitment)

Let us know what you think on this thread and you could win another prize!
We've got:

A Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 worth c£180 courtesy of the team at TalkTalk more details here

A whole years' supply of Aldi nappies from the folks at Aldi - worth c.£500

And thanks to the Royal Academy we have two x 4 adult tickets to their new exhibition showcasing Manet early next year. There are two prizes each of 4 tickets (if children under 12 they will go in free so the winner can invite another 2 adults) - worth £120. More info here

In 2012 we have given away over £25,000 worth of prizes in the form of vouchers, books, beauty products, hampers and technology.
You have tested nearly £70,000 worth of products - including having your DCs put My Little Pony, Chicco toys and Wonderbook Book of Spells to the test.

We've surely made (some of you) look younger or slimmer with product tests for Garnier UltraLift, Origins Plantscription and M&S shapewear. Xmas Wink

We've helped feed the family by trying out the HomeCooker from Jamie and Philips, scoffing Kingsmill Fruit and Fibre bread and helped make dishes tasty by introducing Bisto Stock Melts.

We've got you talking about a range of topics - from baking for the Big Fair Bake, visiting National Trust properties with the family and cleaning with Ecover.

What have you enjoyed taking part in this year? Or appreciated reading about? What would you like us to product test next year?

Most of the product tests are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely research panel. If you are not yet on our panel please see this link for more info or to sign up. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it?s not for you.

So to win one of the lovely prizes please do one of the following:
~ Post on this thread about what you've enjoyed doing insight-wise this year or what you've appreciated reading about
~ Post on the thread any suggestions for product tests etc you'd like to see next year (no promises but we can try!)
~ Post on the thread to say you have joined the panel

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Grin

Amazon vouchers always well received! Never been selected for cleaning/laundry stuff - can you tell how crap I am at housekeeping?

I joined the panel this year and I bloody love it - completing surveys, applying for product tests, and generally feeling "part" of something.

I've been lucky with product tests, including a breastpump, various foodstuffs and the M&S shape wear. It's broadened my knowledge of what's out there to buy, and I like writing, so it's a perfect combination for me. I've not actually won any of the prize draws from taking part, but it feels like it because of the products I have in the house (though I wouldn't say no to a prize...)

I'd like to see more book-related things. I love reading and would really like to try reading ebooks on an iPad, hint hint

Think there is a huge range of reviews, and you mumsnet peeps do a brilliant job of sorting it all out. I don't think I was chosen for anything last year but did get selected for electronic game testing the previous year so was pleased about that and DCs were very excited. Think someone has beaten me to it but would like to see more things relevant to older children/teens, if possible. And of course woud like to be chosen for something!

I love being part of insight - I do love a survey.

A friend and I got to go to the Waitrose Cooking School which was a fab day out. We were the worst cooks but we may have had the most fun and we both cook a bit differently.

I also got a £20 Amazon voucher which was gratefully received.

I would have like to test-drive the Dyson recently because I was thinking of buying one...

I've enjoyed filling out surveys & we have tested rice puddings & anti-bacterial spray. I think we (like sooo many others) would be happy to have more products to test. My dd really enjoys it too as we both enjoy feeling that we are having an influence on something or that people are interested in our opinions.
For future surveys or testing - things you can try out as a family would be good; more toddler products as lots for babies or older dc's but not so many for under 5's; also agree with poster waaaay back to trial products for those with sensitive skin or skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema (adults & dc's) would be helpful.
Thank you.

Hmmm, not tested anything in 2012 I think? But agree with suggestions for testing local services/products and testing customer service levels generally.

I really enjoy taking part in the surveys and product tests. I particularly liked the Method washing liquid, the anti-bac spray, the M&S shapewear, and the Cheddar nibbles. (Ok, it was my dc who particularly liked the Cheddar nibbles.)

I'd love to test some skincare or make-up...

I have really enjoyed doing the surveys. They often give me information which I would not have come across otherwise (who is Kate Thornton????!). My health has interfered with my reliability, and I've missed a lot of them, but am determined to do better this year.

i'd like to test products which I could never afford in a month of Sundays Grin

Loving the kelo-cote test, my favourite so far this year. I never would have thought to buy something to treat my scar and am so happy with the results. I also love being on the panel Grin

I walk everywhere and am forever buying new walking shoes, outdoor clothes and weather gear for me and dc's not to mention wearing out buggies left right and centre. It would be great to test things like this as not all are that great nor genuinely waterproof or durable, it is good to try new things on the market.

Looking forward to what 2013 has to offer in the way of surveys and stuff to try out!

I really enjoyed the Method cleaning liquid, and the Fruit and Fibre bread. Hoping to get something a bit bigger in 2013, was gutted to miss out on the Dyson test over xmas. Smile

I like the way the surveys are done as they're quite quick and doesn't mean I have to trawl through loads of pages.

I have tried M&S Shapewear and Method laundry liquid. Loved the Shapewear :) Thank you very much for letting me try these. I could possibly have tried other things too, but the years have all rolled into a big blob and I don't know what was when! Blush but thank you anyway! Grin

I have really enjoyed being on the panel and have recommended joining to several friends and members of my family. I'm happy to test just about anything really but would particularly like to test some educational aids/games with my children in future, outdoor toys such as scooters (we had a few before finding a decent one!), pushchairs, household gadgets, "green" products, clothes (adults' or children's)... Basically I just love trying new (or old) things and giving feedback to help improve the product/service/experience.

In 2012 we loved trying the method liquid, fruit and fibre loaf, M&S fuller for longer etc. I was gutted to miss out on the pushchair as ours had just developed a fatal flaw - and the Hoover (likewise!).

I too have enjoyed being on the panel, getting things in the post is quite exciting! Its interesting to read the feedback from others, I wonder how much the companies focus on these threads and what, if any, action is taken.

What we tested - Crisps, M&S shapewear, Method, rice pudding, nappies...can't think what else though there may well have been.
I think the one i enjoyed most was the Shapewear one, being able to choose the item that I wanted to test was great.

Ideas for the new year - camping, days out/restaurants, handbags Grin.

I've tested Ecover, Fruit and Fibre bread, and the Aveda Haircare.

My favourite one was the Ecover, because I'm very sad and love washing Blush.

I love being a product tester, and would like to see more things for older kids (teens), and of course for mums. More style and beauty products to test please!

I've just signed up to the panel and I'm looking forward to hopefully getting involved. I tested Method for Mumsnet, really enjoyed it, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can do more via the panel. Thanks for the opportunity!

I've enjoyed the method laundry liquid test as I love getting little parcels in the post. I am also overly fond of giving my opinion so love surveys Grin it would be nice to know what outcomes and general feedback was on some of them though.

I would be very happy to test anything from Lakeland. It would also be good to have some fitness and activity type tests as well as products.

I haven't actually been picked to try anything yet. Was very excitef about the posdiblity of trying the playstation 3. Alas it was not meant to be. I think I dont write good enough reasons why they should choose me. Any tips. I quite enjoy doing the surveys ( sicko). I dony feel I am wasting my time as they dont ususlly take to long. Keep it and fingers crossed for getting to try somethings this year.

One big plus about the panel that I like, is that folks in Northern Ireland are considered to actually exist and can be worthy of taking part in trials etc.......too often survey company's rule us out based on location in UK. Even sending things to us to test is not as expensive as some companies seem to think.

I signed up this year and have tested the Aldi toiletries and the Method detergent - both of which really liked and will be using in the future.

Its a great way to try new products and like to think that our opinion might be useful!

Hope to get to try more things in 2013!

I joined the panel a couple of months ago and have really enjoyed it so far! Have done plenty of surveys and have really enjoyed testing the Method laundry liquid.
This year, hmmm, food products are always gratefully received in this house - our food budget is TIGHT and toddlers eat a lot!
Looking forward to being part of the panel in 2013...

Another one that only signed up recently but so far so good. Dotty parcels with French laundry liquid are always welcome.

Always happy to fill out a quick survey although I pity the poor soul that has to decipher my ramblings.

Stuff I would love to see offered next year... family days out would be good and
maybe cookery courses offered to learn how to use a product rather than just the product. Game testing/ reviewing would be good especially as the market for gaming is spreading to more women. Oh and books, love books!

Thank you mumsnet I have thoroughly enjoyed doing your surveys and product tests. I've been lucky enough to have tested lots of things this year from cereals, washing powders and crisps to a Hoover and the wonderbook of spells.
We as a family do enjoy testing all these things and my dcs quite often ask what's next!!
I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store for 2013 Smile
