The time has come for the insight team at MNHQ to do our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year!

(In case you don't know insight covers surveys, product tests and sponsored threads on MN, as well as bloggers reviews, and reviewers recruitment)

Let us know what you think on this thread and you could win another prize!
We've got:

A whole years' supply of Aldi nappies from the folks at Aldi - worth c.£500

And thanks to the Royal Academy we have two x 4 adult tickets to their new exhibition showcasing Manet early next year. There are two prizes each of 4 tickets (if children under 12 they will go in free so the winner can invite another 2 adults) - worth £120. More info here

In 2012 we have given away over £25,000 worth of prizes in the form of vouchers, books, beauty products, hampers and technology.
You have tested nearly £70,000 worth of products - including having your DCs put My Little Pony, Chicco toys and Wonderbook Book of Spells to the test.

We've surely made (some of you) look younger or slimmer with product tests for Garnier UltraLift, Origins Plantscription and M&S shapewear. Xmas Wink

We've helped feed the family by trying out the HomeCooker from Jamie and Philips, scoffing Kingsmill Fruit and Fibre bread and helped make dishes tasty by introducing Bisto Stock Melts.

We've got you talking about a range of topics - from baking for the Big Fair Bake, visiting National Trust properties with the family and cleaning with Ecover.

What have you enjoyed taking part in this year? Or appreciated reading about? What would you like us to product test next year?

Most of the product tests are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely research panel. If you are not yet on our panel please see this link for more info or to sign up. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it?s not for you.

I joined the panel this year and have been lucky enough to test a variety of products (chocolate porridge, garnier cream, cheese, apples and milk). It's great fun and very interesting to see what other people think of the same products that I've tried.

Thanks for the opportunity! Interested to see what I (hopefully) get selected for this year!!

Only done one test - the Method one (loved it, even bought some, although it was on special offer!). Have signed up for the wholegrain one. Would love to do more!
I think household products are good to try as they might actually change what you buy, but I too would be a great holiday tester.:-)

I've really enjoyed being on the MN panel and have been lucky enough to test a variety of things (although maybe my luck is running out or maybe there are more and more people on it as I don't seem to get as much now as I did last year!). In fact I think I just mostly did surveys last year, I don't think anything particularly arrived through the post to try out in the same way that happened the year before!

Favourite thing to do was being a potato councillor - the whole household looked forward to and enjoyed seeing what recipe was being sent for the month, and trying it out. And actually only the end of that was in this year, most of it was in the year before.

So this year I'm hoping that I manage to figure out how to fill in the forms better because I love trying new things out so it would be great to get to try some again. In particular, I'd be interested in anything to do with cameras, technology and gadgets but also food and household stuff too. And days out also sound good... Anything really - not fussy here!

I'm also going to investigate the MN Blogging side of things as they seem to have access to some interesting stuff to test or do.

Having said that, the fact that I have taken part in tests myself, it does mean that I do tend to often read reviews others write when they have taken part in one of the tests I didn't get picked for to see what they have to say. Likewise when I'm looking for something to buy I'll see what the reviews on MN have to say about it. Much more likely to believe a review on here than just a string of stars on Amazon or Argos or wherever, not least because people can put the pros and cons, and put helpful comments in too.

I've really enjoyed being on the Mumsnet panel - I have a really boring 'don't get out much' life and it's genuinely lovely to receive friendly emails asking me to do surveys! It makes me feel part of something and whilst I don't have much time to do many things, I try to make a few minutes to answer the surveys, which I enjoy. I've been lucky enough to try out the Method eco washing liquid, too. It was great to get something nice, free and new in the post - and interesting to try out a product which looked and smelled different to anything I normally use in the washing machine. I have enjoyed Method products in the past, but didn't think the washing liquid was quite as good as I'd expected - but felt privileged to have the chance to try it out. I'm looking forward to doing more surveys in 2013 - I'd love to test new books! But that's just my unrealistic fantasty!

I tried a few products in 2012- shape wear, cleaning products and a couple of others. I liked my shape wear but having now lost weight I am in need again to hold in what diet and exercise can't help - so more of the same! Happy to test out most things but would like to get better notification too - missed out on numerous as the emails were sporadic:-(. Would've happily tested the dyson as my current one is quite cumbersome on stairs so would be good to have seen what new ones like. I cook a lot so anything to do with that would be fab. I also have two energetic daughters who need a lot of entertaining so anything to ease the pain would be fab. Equally good would be something aimed at getting is parents to have some precious down time, me time!

I'm fairly new to Mumsnet and to the panel but I have been lucky enough to test the Ecover wipes, which I really liked and the Philips AVENT comfort breastpump, which I also thought was great.

Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to test them and provide feedback (I rely so much on mumsnet reviews when I buy things so I like to feel like I can contribute). The nicest thing about being selected is it makes me feel lucky, which is an uplifting way to feel.

I really like doing the surveys too. I am always imagining the powerpoint slides at the other end that summarise the findings and I would love to see how the companies use the information they get. I'd love to be involved with giving feedback about branding and creative execution too.

As for future reviews, I would find the following useful; campsites and British holiday resorts, family board games, matresses, buggy boards, e-readers (kindle and the like) and eco house paints.

I have only recently joined but I was chosen to test the method wash liquid which was great. I enjoy filling out the surveys and find reading the threads on products very interesting. Also reading the discussions has been very useful in terms of getting opinions and general information on lots of topics.

I think it would be great to see more products to test that were children orientated as they absolutely love getting involved with things.

Thank you for choosing me for the method product and I look forward to hopefully getting chosen to test more products. :)

I have been on the panel since day one Smile I think I won the "join our panel" 1st Prize. Since then I have won 2 items worth £370. Before that I entered the comps and won £300 of prizes Grin.
Just a shame I seem a bit boring so don't get selected much! I would love to see more secret shopper challenges, working mum shortcuts and possibly a family holiday review? You could cover a selection of Budgets and ask people their opinion with the chance to win £ off the next year?

Thank you mumsnet I have thoroughly enjoyed doing your surveys and product tests. I've been lucky enough to have tested lots of things this year from cereals, washing powders and crisps to a Hoover and the wonderbook of spells.
We as a family do enjoy testing all these things and my dcs quite often ask what's next!!
I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store for 2013 Smile

Another one that only signed up recently but so far so good. Dotty parcels with French laundry liquid are always welcome.

Always happy to fill out a quick survey although I pity the poor soul that has to decipher my ramblings.

Stuff I would love to see offered next year... family days out would be good and
maybe cookery courses offered to learn how to use a product rather than just the product. Game testing/ reviewing would be good especially as the market for gaming is spreading to more women. Oh and books, love books!

I joined the panel a couple of months ago and have really enjoyed it so far! Have done plenty of surveys and have really enjoyed testing the Method laundry liquid.
This year, hmmm, food products are always gratefully received in this house - our food budget is TIGHT and toddlers eat a lot!
Looking forward to being part of the panel in 2013...

I signed up this year and have tested the Aldi toiletries and the Method detergent - both of which really liked and will be using in the future.

Its a great way to try new products and like to think that our opinion might be useful!

Hope to get to try more things in 2013!

One big plus about the panel that I like, is that folks in Northern Ireland are considered to actually exist and can be worthy of taking part in trials etc.......too often survey company's rule us out based on location in UK. Even sending things to us to test is not as expensive as some companies seem to think.

Keep it and fingers crossed for getting to try somethings this year.

I've enjoyed the method laundry liquid test as I love getting little parcels in the post. I am also overly fond of giving my opinion so love surveys Grin it would be nice to know what outcomes and general feedback was on some of them though.

I would be very happy to test anything from Lakeland. It would also be good to have some fitness and activity type tests as well as products.

I've tested Ecover, Fruit and Fibre bread, and the Aveda Haircare.

My favourite one was the Ecover, because I'm very sad and love washing Blush.

I love being a product tester, and would like to see more things for older kids (teens), and of course for mums. More style and beauty products to test please!
