Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on SN.

North Wales/Chester. Where can I find a social group for AS teen?

I have Googled this, but can't find anything in my area (I live in Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales). My DS is 13 and has AS, he has a hard time maintaining friendships and gets bullied a lot. I'm sick of having to cope with the bullying, go round to houses, talk to parents etc, it's never-ending. I thought perhaps DS might find it easier having some AS friends. Does anyone know of any social clubs etc specifically for AS teens in the North Wales/Chester area? Off now to Google again, will check back in tomorrow, thank you!

This is the link to some info of an organisation local to me in Southport. We've not used the service yet as J is just coming to the top of a waiting list but it sounds really good. There may be a similar org near to you - I hope so

Social skills groups might help with teaching skills to help deal with this and might also link you up with other AS teens. Are you under any speech and language practitioners?

I would imagine that you're under Clwyd health, I wonder if they have a speech and language dept at the local hospital ?Glan Clwyd? It would be worth a try.

Our local service which is based in the 1829 building at the Countess of Chester hospital offers social skills groups for school aged children if there are enough to make up a group over the holidays. It might also be worth giving them a ring - go through switchboard and ask to speak to the speech and language secretary and she may be able to set you on the right lines.

Good luck.
