Data received from LA???

As going to tribunal have made FOI request for all records held on ds and minutes from the Panel meeting which refused to assess. Not received minutes so will be chasing these.
As well as copies of most paperwork I already have was the list of cases discussed at the panel meeting along with decisions made. The names of all the children have been blacked out by marker pen but can still be clearly seen when held to the light. 1 case which was agreed is a child at ds's school and in the same year as him! Should LA have disclosed this info to me? Isn't this disclosing personal details about the children?.

When we received our FOI request from LA it included the LEAs case statement about ANOTHER child going to tribunal...obviously lots of personal info.....It amazes me how that could happen as it is all meant to be so private and we have to request info about our own dcs and then they send that !!....I thought I could`nt be surprised any more.......

You could let the Information Commissioner know. You wouldn't gain much from it except knowing that the LA would probably get their knuckles rapped though. And I would leave it until your own case is home and dry. It does work in your favour now, as TG says.

I have some very personal information in our own records so I'd be horrified if ours was sent out to another family - it would be making a complaint 'for the greater good'.

I didn't get any minutes for my refusal to assess panel, although I got some interestingly brief ones for school allocation.

Carryoncatsbum, Thanks, that's interesting. When I asked for the minutes from the Panel meeting, I was told that I could not have them, as the Panel discussed other children and that it would therefore be a breach of the data protection act/confidentiality!

I did ask them why they could not "redact" the minutes and blank out the names of the other children. They never replied to me...

So at least you managed to get hold of them!

Have received response from LA. They state that they have sent me the minutes from the meeting. It is the sheet with grids marked on it stating names of children, d.o.b's and school attended stating whether SA was agreed or not. Not my idea of what a set of minutes looks like!
