Hi everyone ,as the title says our LEA conceded and agreed to Parts 2,3,4 for Residential special school for SLCN.!!!!
It was agreed a couple of weeks ago but I would not relax until we had the final statement with signature !!!
Our tribunal was set also for next week as a lot of yours seem to be.
We can finally breathe as it has been horrendous. sugar you were right they did come back with special school after originally naming M/S but peer group /school were not right and we stuck it out - that was one of the worse weeks -
I don`t post often but read everyday and you have all been so helpful with advice and I want to wish you all the best and all my prayers xx

and at TG!

Oh, I'm so pleased for you jiggles! You must be so relieved not to have to go through to tribunal. Well done.

Did the LA agree that your child needed a waking day curriculum or was it that there were no local schools that were appropriate?

TG, sorry to hear your LA are still messing you around. It's all going to look bad for them in the end.

TotalChaos · 09/07/2010 15:48

great news!

jiggles01 · 09/07/2010 16:40

sugar There were certainly no local schools suitable ,so they asked us to look at 2 out of boro day independent schools and they were most definately not appropriate.DS needs slt embedded into the curriculum and very intensive therapy. As said before he has been described as unusual and unique ,so peer group was extremely important as his self esteem ,confidence rock bottom .Private reports also said he needed waking day for independence etc as he cannot work on his own /organise himself, will not do any activities at all out of school etc
