A lovely moment

DD1 is 9 with AS. She is extremely tactile defensive so any kind of physical contact is very rare.
Anyway, last night she asked me to lie with her when she went to bed. She snuggled up to me, hugged me tightly and said, "I really, really love you mammy."

I had a huge lump in my throat -literally cannot remember the last time she said she loved me. It makes these times so precious, doesn't it.
Just wanted to share, cos I am usually on here whinging

That's lovely.

Ds1 is 8 also has AS, he rarely cuddles, but when he does, its so special and you feel truly honoured and know he really loves you, even though he rarely shows it.

Oh that brought tears to my eyes! What a lovely moment. And you're right, it means these moments are really golden ones.
