My sons best friend has HFA and his parents and school are always telling us what a good friend our son is and how much of a difference he makes. So a few weeks ago on his lunch break at work while looking at the new NAS campaign DH filled out a happiness hero form so he could surprise our son with a certificate. Anyway NAS have been in touch and they want to feature this as a case study on their website and do a press release. We still have not told our son yet...

Made me tearful too. I hope you are very very proud.

Aaw that's so sweet My DS has HFA and has a kind sensitive friend who we also see out of school, for children on the spectrum I think having peers who like them makes such a difference to their confidence and self esteem.

Thanks everyone I am really proud and what his best friends Mum has said about him has had me in tears too! Just waiting for the NAS press person to write the story up and then they will be putting it on their website.

Ahh what a lovely story - you should be very very proud of your DS - I'm sure you are. I really hope my DD can make a friend like your DS when she starts school in September.
