dd1 has had an accident & is in hospital - unfortunately 3 hrs away from us.

ds is phobic about hospitals - he obviously can't come up with us. dh & I both need to go - have dd2 to worry about too. I'm picking ds up from nursery in an hour & dropping him at my mum's it will be for at least one night - he loves my mum but hasn't stayed overnight. He probably won't speak at all while he's there & no idea how she'll get him to sleep.

Don't know how to explain what is happening to him

phlebas too late I know for any advice, but wanted to say hope it's all gone ok, dd1 is being well looked after, ds not too confused.

what a horrible thing to happen, just hope it all works out for you.

posting from hospital to distract myself. dd is in theatre atm

ds was fantastic at my mum's I'm so proud of him - took 2 hours to get him to sleep but she managed. Not sure how long we're going to be away - they are talking about 48-72 hrs atm, if that's the case dh will have to go back to ds - I'm not happy leaving him that long.

oh phlebas, I hope oyur dd is ok.

Brilliant that ds settled - last time we had to leave dd1, she refused bed, and was just about falling asleep on the babysitter when we got back at gone midnight

whereabouts are you? If you are anywhere near me (Surrey) I am happy to help in any way possible.

try to get some rest (impossible I know) - your dd will need you to be at your best tomorrow.

Thank you! She got back to the ward at 3am last night & is doing pretty well - will def be in until sat, hoping that she won't need more surgery.

I've managed to arrange for ds' tutors to go to my mum's house today so he'll have that consistency. DH is going to pick him up tomorrow morning so just one more night. He spoke to me on the 'phone too 'hello mummy, ds stroking the rabbit' Don't think there was much sleeping last night but he has eaten which is great.
