Because ds is mainly HE as part of SEN does this mean because ds is now over 5yrs I will be moved from Income Support to Job Seekers? It says on BUDGET today.....this is not right I will lose my home as cant afford mortgage and cant work(would love to finished my degree at 8 months pregnant should have second home in France and mortgage paid when ds 8 but ds had the MMR and BANG....lost ds lost our future)
If I return to work I will be sacked within 3 weeks due to level of input which is expected off me (manager of HP; interview/supervise/train/wages/resouces/put programmes together/taxi driver/tea lady/cleaner/cook/health safety/I have to do therapy when tutors sick or absent/several appoints every few weeks so not enough annual leave to cover this also!

Anyone know if JS is now the case? If so how does it change my situation as I want to but cant work.

want to sleep do you get dla for ds and or carers?

glittery · 22/06/2010 22:09

if you get carers allowance it protects you from the going back to work issue

roundthebend4 · 22/06/2010 22:10

yep though i still get called in for the annual 2 month lets see if we can get you back to work , keep saying oh yes please tea breaks and a lunch break

sugarcandymountain · 22/06/2010 22:13

If you get DLA/Carers, the rules are different. You can stay on IS as a carer, not just as a lone parent. You usually get called in twice a year for a Back to Work interview but that is just to check whether you need support returning to work, not pressuring you to do so.

glittery · 22/06/2010 22:21

roundthebend do you get called in every two months? i thought its meant to be every 6 months for a work focussed interview?

roundthebend4 · 22/06/2010 22:23

yep i do even though inform them i do work already for the goverment ..

But oh for a lunch breaK

glittery · 22/06/2010 22:25

i think they make up their own rules, someone once told me they got called in every 6 weeks but i just thought they were getting their weeks and months mixed up but now im not so sure!!

roundthebend4 · 22/06/2010 22:31

glittery · 22/06/2010 22:34

nothing like making it easy for you eh? seems daft you wont let you go to the nearer one, they are all under the one government after all!!

roundthebend4 · 22/06/2010 22:36

roundthebend4 · 22/06/2010 22:53

yep you have me on Fb

want2sleep · 22/06/2010 23:51

Thank you for pointing that out was worried sick and lying in bed not able to sleep (per normal). I am on carers (in a sad kinda way)

I hate those interviews also I just sit their and cry. I wish I could have a normal day never mind a normal life and send my ds to school and not think twice. Lucky the lady at JC is lovely and she has been with me throughout ...having to give up work, she came to my house to see how the programme works and my involvement and I can call her anytime....next few months so hard as I took a 3 yr break and have to hand in my notice in 2 months thinking I was going to 'cure' ds, fulltime school and work it was a how long this 'cure' takes Lovaass said so many years but aint been the case for ds being honest ds will always need support [acceptance econ]

well that sounds bad ....quick read.... yea medical asssesments, fun poking and proding kids and adults to see why they cant work....

great more stress. at this rate ill be surprised if i live to 40

want2sleep · 23/06/2010 00:22

couldnt agree more waith the dla testing will be another huge stress....esp as ds doesnt have 'physical' signs of disability.
