Has anyone had a play assessment done by a HV?
My HV came out today to see me about my ds who i've had some concerns about. I wrote down all my worries, which she said was really useful and has taken away with her. She did a speech assessment (BRISC) and is referring him to SALT. Hes not too bad but she said she would rather he gets seen in a few mths and be fine, than re-assess in a few mths, decide to refer, then he has to wait a few mths more. He seems to miss the end sounds on some of his words and sometimes repeats questions back to me. She played some games with him (to look at his understanding i assume) which all went well. Although my ds was insisting on stacking the stacking cups for a while after asking me which one was tallest, because they had done this lol.
She is coming back in 3 wks to do another assessment because of worries about his other behaviours/quirks. She said it will take around an hour and she will be able to let me know right away whether he needs to be referred onto a paediatrician.
So I was just wondering if anyone else has had their HV do this assessment? She said she just has various games and activities to do with ds.
She also mentioned sending someone in to observe him at nursery but i thought it was very early to mention this?
