Hi, Just found-out that DD has PMLD . She is 3+. Can anyone please recommend a good primary school in SE England. We are willing to move to give her the best chance in life. Thanks so much.

Do you want a day school or residential? Where in SE are you, are you near any part of London?
are you thinking independent/non-maintained or local authority/maintained?

I may have some thoughts if you can narrow it down a little.

Hi electricslide,

Thanks a lot for your reply.Sorry didnt check the post for a while.Been up to the neck with things . Still getting to grips with things, and trying to understand the whole process of statementing etc.

We are in Harrow, North West London. We dont mind whether independent or maintained, although we have heard that we would have to struggle a lot to go the non-maintained way. Unfortunately, would not be able to fund privately in a sustainable manner . Particularly looking for a place that has intensive therapy and 1:1 provision.. and ofcourse staff who genuinely care and are interested in making a difference (but then... that's on every parent's wish list I guess!)

Thanks again... any thoughts are most appreciated.

I saw your other thread about Woodlands, and I do think it's a really nice school, with a lovely ethos and very good leadership. Nice new build school too, with a good secondary to follow on to. Very happy kids, most importantly.

There's not much locally other than state, and tbh they are all v similar to Woodlands in other LAs. Off the top of my head I can't think of anything local that's non-maintained or independent.
