Hi,
well we have been struggling with dd's school for the past 3yrs-as she really does struggle both with the work and socially.
we are appealing to Sendist for a statement as LEA refused to assess.
Today I get a call from the senco telling me she is doing a SNAP assessment on dd and that this term they are going to be giving her 1-1 maths with the TA as she's been in a small group who have all made progress bar her.
It's about time.....but a bit late........this poor child who is now in yr 4 see's herself as stupid, weird and has such low self esteem due to her struggles. We have been questioning them for ages about her maths and keep getting told she is making progress-well obviously not and they have been lying to us............this little girl does not even know the very basics yet and has had 5yrs at school-and only now the last term of Yr 4 are they doing something.

We are so angry-and wandered whether the school had been contacted by the lea recently and that this is why this is happening all of a sudden.

We are also waiting for a 2nd opinion app at GOSH as we suspect she has ASD/PDA.

x
