Quick DLA mobility question

DS2 is 5 in August and we are going to reapply for mobility as h should get the lower rate. Do we wait until his birthday or can we apply a few weeks before?

ds was already getting HR care and they sent our mobility forms out 6 months before he was 3 and we got the decision before he turned 3 but it didnt kick in till his birthday.
so i think you would be fine to apply beforehand, takes them a while to decide anyway usually!

same experience as glittery. Apply beforehand and it should start as soon as he turns 5.

yes apply now as it takes ages and they will date it from your DS birthday.

DS2 only gets MRC but he will be entitled to lower mobility.

Can I apply online, or is it best to get forms sent out?

They don't seem to date your form request for a renewal like they do for an initial application, BUT the forms for a renewal have a few slightly different questions in (basically about why you're reapplying etc)
