sequencing issues?

my ds1 (8) is by all accounts doing well at school but his teacher (also the senco) has raised the issue once again that he cannot get things in the right sequence - ie he will do instruction 1 but then can't follow through with the next steps. She has advised that we seek outside help at this stage by going to gp. My gp surgery staffed entirely by locums. Anyone got any thoughts? We are north/central London.

This sounds like a matter for a speech and language therapist - I was under the impression the school can apply for it under School Action Plus?

Yes sounds like a SaLT issue go back to school and ask them to call in the SaLT. Ask school if they think there is any other information that you should be giving to the GP rather than just the sequencing, do they have any other concerns.
