Good news, i think?

Dd2's school application for sn school went to panel on monday, i was expecting to hear by post the outcome, i sat and waited for the postman but nothing came so i thought 'oh well, maybe it will come tomorrow'.

When i was waiting to get dd1 outside school, the SENCO came out to talk to me and said 'oh, i hear dd2 is not coming here in september?' , i looked shocked and told her that we didn't know and i asked her if she had heard anything and she said that all she knew is that it went to panel on monday and dd2 has been taken off of the school register (i think she knew more but had realized that she wasn't supposed to say anything).

Does it sound like dd2 has got the place at the SN school?

The SENCO then went on to make me feel guilty about not sending her to MS, she said she had started to arrange extra security (a new gate) to keep dd2 safe and said she would love to have dd2 in her class.

Sounds like good news to me.

What I don't understand is why they always insist they would love to keep your dc in their school - despite having failed them really badly.....

Is it because they get per pupil funding? If their place is taken by the next person on the waiting list surely they won't lose any funding...

Everytime my headteacher says she wishes I wasn't removing my 3 I feel like being very rude....

The MS school is tiny, only 3 children are due to start in September (dd2 was one of them), because of this they had decided to put reception, year 1 and year 2 into the same class (mad), there would then be 1 teacher to 25 pupils, by having dd2 there they would get an extra adult in the room (dd's statement states 30 hours support which they can use as 1:1 or in a small group), i'm sure thats why they want dd2 at the school.
