sorry about your ds. Are you in contact with the school nurse?

roundthebend4 · 25/05/2010 17:26

no because till now we had no explaination why even though previous paed was aware but think for long time they concertrate on his asthma .Was only when ds2 had large rectal bleed then new gp did urgent referal to gastro team then we went in think all within a month

Have looked for support groups for ds2 but at 13 he is to young for lot to register and the others he feels aimed at youger kid

Do they have school nurses at secondry level ds is Y8s

Yes there will be a schoolnurse in secondary. My sister's ds has crohns which started at about the same age. He's much better now though and hasn't had a bad spell for ages so fingers crossed for your ds.

What's best way finding her calling school ?.Will I need wait till paed writes to GP confirming dx? .Am use dealing with ds3 Sn and dd fmedical but there both primary ,where ds2 is senior and harder to explain to staff as he has so many.

poor thing. hopefully with the right meds and diet he'll feel better soon. could you speak to local support group, to get a feel for what would be reasonable for school to do iyswim. does he have a pastoral tutor or anything like that who theoretically should take some responsibility for this sort of stuff. I wouldn't bother about waiting for dx letter, you can phone her up and let her know official dx is in pipeline.

poor lad. I wouldn't wait for dx letter. the wheels of bureaucracy move so slowly as you must know yourself!

Even if the support group is aimed at younger kids would be worth getting in touch as they might know where older kids can go.
