Good practice in writing statements (DCSF guidance)

This is quite a useful document for those with (inadequate) proposed statements, who want examples and guidance in rewriting a new one. It's not legally binding for LAs but it is intended to give advice for LA officers.

It was published in March so it's very recent and has input from the Lamb report. There are some good examples for Parts 2&3.

It does make me realise how badly written DS's statement is. I've already put in my working document now and my version is tighter in terms of provision, but it reads abruptly because phrases have been lifted from different reports. I like the linking of objectives and provision in the examples.

This is really useful, I'll use some of this for ammunition as the more I read the more rubbish our statement is

Thank you.
