have just be reading Marnes thread and didnt want to hijack .
I have DS1s salt report for his statement. it states "ds1 will benefit from an educational setting where staff are experienced in working with children with severe speech and language impairments and have knowledge of makaton. he will continue to benefit from daily opportunities to work on anindividual basis and as apart of a small group. staff would benefit from working in close collaboration witha salt to adapt the curriculum to ds1's language level and provide a programme that can be integrated into hos daily curriculum"
it does also say in the statement attention, listening, play and social skilss are within normal limits and receptive language is age appropriate.
it does mention 20 hrs a year but adds this is for a mainstream setting if he attends special special the above provision will be reconsidered to take into account.....
Does this look like a recommending speech unit report bearing in mind his area of concern is expressive labnguage.
is the key wording the daily opportunties and small groups.
help please
