Ds is 6, will be getting a dx of ASD in the next few weeks.

After CAMHS therapy sessions, it has become obvious that ds is very aware that he is 'different' if im entirely honest, i had not realised just how much thought he had given to it.

Does anyone know of any good books to read to/with ds about feeling different?

My favourite is "I am Utterly Unique".

We also have "My Brother is Different" which DS1 has perused a few times. It actually describes him better than his brother, in some ways, so we look at it in a more impersonal way.

Oh - and it's a more general book for younger children, rather than ASD related, but "Giraffes can't dance" is fabulous, as is Toddworld on TV.

Thanks Ouryve, just ordered 'I am utterly unique'
