I just wanted to post on here and alert anyone that doesn't know about it to the Early Start Denver Model....as a professional specialising in Autism and Early years it has been a breath of fresh air to me to discover such a sensible and well researched approach that mixes my preferred style of ABA (Pivotal Response Training) with a firm foundation in developmental methods.
I am not trying to convert anyone just wanted to spread the word! Reading there research project and book it just made me realise how far behind we are over here in the UK for early intervention....even the ABA that is used can be pretty outdated!
Am off to the states to do my certification in August and hope to begin to disseminate it to Local Authorities in my consultancy role asap!! We are also hoping to get the ESDM guys over here to Scotland to run a conference for us next year once we have our early intervention service and centre set up.
