DD1 already been told, have booked and paid for where we are staying and DH has holiday booked off. I dont know what to do??

I cant afford to make that trip twice, DH has no leave left and I cant afford to lose the money we paid

DH said we should just go and use it as a holiday break but its so far to go. If we go, we wont be able to go to BIBIC again till next year

Cant quite believe they have done this to us with only 5 weeks to go

Why did the cancel?

I would be .

Can you get a refund? If not then maybe just go for a holiday.

Bridgewater is nice we live not far from there and went own at the weekend.

they said the therpist werent working that week!! Think they would know that when they booked us in.
I know bridgewater would be great for a hoiliday but personally wouldnt choose to travel that far.
No cant cant refund as too close now

Oh no! Is there anyway you can call them again and explain. They sometimes have more than one therapist working at a time and they might be able to swap you with someone closer!?

debs40 · 26/04/2010 21:22

What a nuisance!

When we were there, someone on this board was actually sent home AFTER arriving (they had travelled miles) because a therpaist hadn't turned up. I felt really bad because we live only about an hour or so a way and they lived hours away.

Where are you staying? Lots of places let you cancel before hand and even if they are strict would only charge a percentage of the money you've paid. Five weeks is actually quite alot of notice in the hotel/B&B trade and they should be able to readvertise. It's worth asking.

Can your DH not just go back into work and rearrange his holiday?

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 27/04/2010 07:18

we are staying at a campsite nearby, and i have checked. Unless they can fill our spot we have to pay in full, and I cant risk it.

I think we will go for the holiday and try again next year

DH has to be careful about his holidays. They have to agree it with their team and also they are laying people off, and his trying to be very careful not to mess them around.

Oh LIsa I am sorry (its peachy

I guess from theirn perspective if they know a therapist will be unavailable for some reason then 5 weeks is better than trying to pull it together and then pulling out at the last mo

still a PITA for you though

MArne- are you sure PMSL? bridgy nice? maybe being raised somewhere for 30 years clouds ytour eprspective, cant stick the palce myself

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 27/04/2010 21:45

I spoke to a lovely lady today who told me the reason they cancelled was due to staff having to do Child Protection training. However, because we are staying all week, she has managed to move one family to an earlier appointment and we are now going at end of week
I am so happy and so grateful to who ever has changed their appointment too
