So here's our dilemma....
DP has been offered an internal promotion at work. It's more money (altohugh that isn't motivating the move), a big promotion for DP (he will go from managing 5 to 20 people across different teams), and career move, that I personally think he would be foolish not to grab.
BUT... it's down south and we live oop north.
The job would be in Dunstable, and I have lived in the area about a decade ago and loved it, so I'm definately not averse to the idea at all.
DS is 6 and has ASD. He's currently in Year 1, and is finally settled and loving school (with the help of a good nights sleep thanks to melatonin!) I can't emphasise how pleased we are with the school he attends, they are fantastic, attentive, and his 1 to 1 is everything I could ask for. He does not currently have a statement.
He turned down a job offer in London last year because we were going through trying to statement him (this hasn't happened in the end), we were trying to get him settled, and the job was with a new firm so DP would loose a certain amount of job security and benefits etc...
but the new job is with the same company..
TBH if it was just us, we would be down there like a flash....we both get bored easily and like to move on in career and life, but DS is our priority.. we currently live in Harrogate, its a beautiful place to live, excellent place to bring up kids, schools etc, and I'm worried we are being selfish even considering it when DS is settled and loving school life.
Altohugh we have family in Yorkshire, we don't get help day to day, so really that would make no difference to us, we would probably see more of them if we lived further away.
We are worried that it would just be a disater for DS, when we have worked so hard to get him settled...
HELP?
