Has anyone taught themselves Makaton?

Rather than going to a class?

I know all the signs from the Mr tumble DVD's and the ones on the BBC website, but I would like to learn some that are a bit more useful than 'Teddy' and 'Bakers shop'

The course our local FE college runs is booked up until September and its in the evening so childcare would be a problem. I have been looking at the resources packs on the Makaton website and wondered if anyone has taught themselves using those, and how easy they found it, or if there is something else I could give a try that might be cheaper than the £100+ Makaton charge.

Contact your nearest SN school, they will almost certainly run courses.

They ran a course at Ds school (SN) was very reasonable cost wise.
