First ever thread on MN as have been a "read the update and snort" person for a long while. So apologies if not doing the right abbreviations .
Got two boys, youngest(DS2???) has 18p deletion, v rare genetic disorder. He's magic and lovely and really quite typical day to day but has lots of medical stuff. He's developmentally ok, has depressed immune system and some delays that only this Mummy sees. He does get a bit poorly and has asthma and low muscle tone and kyphosis and kidney issues and other stuff too.
Anyway he's 3.5 and I'm starting to make waves about getting a statement. I'm even blogging about it all so as not to go insane when it inevitably becomes as shit and overwhelming as appeal for school place did for DS1 last Spring.
Because I'm so used to fighting and not being heard, I don't even know if going for a statement is necessary. Or if I have no choice. Or if I'm a bad mum whatever I do.
So if any of you out there have complicated kids who actually are quite typical day to day, or a disorder that will take its time to fully present itself, can you shed some light?

thanks Leonie
before I get scared, my blog address is sarajinbetween.blogspot.com
It can be so frustrating trying to do the right thing. Weep away, that's what I say, because I find when I've done the crying (or leaking because I rarely let rip and weep to be honest) I feel strong and positive again.
or I pretend to.
fake it til you make it always works for me
good luck

'fake it til you make it always works for me'

LOL, where DO you get these from!?

this kind of rubbish rolls out of my head - I blame having worked in the evil world of TV drama for 16 years. and being a bit immature.

Well just to warn you that I'm a wannabe namechanger and whilst I do it regularly, somehow everyone still knows it's me .

You'll probably suffer the same fate with those straplines
