Letter acknowledging my request for assessment

Got the standard letter from the LEA saying they are considering my request for assessment, will be contacting the school and other professionals involved in assessing my son so far etc etc.

They are having a complex needs panel meeting on 9th April and say that any information I would like them to have needs to be with them by this Friday. What sort of info are they referring to.

My request letter was very detailed in explaining what I thought my son's needs were, what the school had been doing to support him so far, and how this was still inadequate. It was five pages long (!)and included the school's opinion (they are supporting my request) and with contact details for all other professionals involved.

What else could they want/need at this stage?

Advice from anyone who's been through this before would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can send in copies of any reports from professionals that have a bearing on ds's needs.

They've probably got everything in that case. You can maybe suggest they talk to any other people that know your LO, or if any reports or letters come in between now and then you can still send them iyswim.

For example, - he has an small accident you attribute to not having enough support. You get the details and any evidence and write a letter clarifying what happened and then copy it to the panel do you see what I mean?
