Had review meeting with paed yesterday and in the recent salt report there is a section with info on this disorder.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

My daughter is being assessed atm for this. She is Ok with literacy but confused by numeracy, slow at visual and spatial perception, poor at gross motor skills, has sensory issues, anxiety issues and selective mutism. It seems similar to ASD but with less severe semantic pragmatic language difficulties. As verbal skills are stronger it is called non verbal learning difficulty as the weakness tends to be in non verbal skills.

Thanks, my dd has the same issues without selective mutism. Paed also wants to screen for add, I'm not convinced. Due to start body brushing in a week, fingers crossed it helps!

Be interested to hear from any other parents who know anything about this too

Don't think its well known about. It won't be an "official" diagnosis per say until 2012 when the DSM will be adding it as a new entry.
