Legoland carers pass

I have been saving my Tesco clubcard vouchers to take the DSes to Legoland in the summer.

I have enough vouchers to pay for DH and DS1. DS2 has ASD and recieved middle rate care - would I be able to get him and I in under the carers scheme?

Not that he will go on anything, but he will enjoy running around!

Did you know you can get free tickets from the Merlin's Magical Wand charity? You need to fill out their application form online and then send them a DLA/dx letter.

You can request tickets for the family group plus travel expenses to any one of the Merlin Entertainment Group sites - Legoland, Alton Towers, Sea Life etc. Takes a few weeks to sort it out though so may not be ready for Easter.

We are going with tesco club points (i hope), i'm not sure how it will work for us as i have 2 dd's on DLA and i'm a carer.

We went a while ago and we took proof (DLA award letter)
My ds2 has ASD but is also a wheelchair user so to be honest they took a look and gave us the fast pass( works but you can only use it with 2 carers), but I don't remember getting in any cheaper,,,

Then again I may just be forgetting!

sugarcandymountain thank you ever so much, I applied yesterday thinking 'The worst they can say is no' - ut have had an email today saying we have been accepted. I am so happy as we would never be able to afford to pay for the day without clubcard points and now I can use them for something else.

well have a nice time

Have a great time, ShadeofViolet! You do know ASD family groups can avoid the queues for rides? I haven't used the system myself, but I think you can get a pass when you show a DLA/dx letter.

That sounds like a great idea sugarcandy. Thanks for sharing. Do you have to send evidence of diagnosis? My son has DCD and SCD but no formal dx of ASD as yet....blimey, just realised why they call these children 'the alphabet kids'!

ShadeofViolet · 24/03/2010 10:34

They asked me for a letter which gave his diagnosis, however I only had one which said he was probably ASD (he has been given a formal DX but we dont get reports anymore). They accepted this along with his DLA letter and his Paed appointment card.

Wow, it was enough to send most recent report. It was dealt with really quickly and tickets are on their way. I am impressed!!

ShadeofViolet · 24/03/2010 16:32

I have emailed the people at Legoland and if you take your DLA letter/ Paed letter you can get an exit pass for you all - so you dont have to queue.

I am so excited now
