Hi,
Can anyone suggest some good speech therapy resources to buy for my dd please. We are finding it very hard to secure any therapist to come and work with her on her vocals, she is making good progress but we don't know how to develop her further. We are willing to pay every one their asking rate but had no success. In the absence of that if there are any dvds out there to help with apraxia please tell me because I am desperate, she is so ready to start blending words and Ifeel so helpless. She is 8yrs old if I didn't help her now she might never talk.Advance thanks to any helpers.

hi
my daughter has speech and language help in school and she has just turned 7 i dont know about apraxia im afraid but what i found that is helping is the letterland series they do books dvd/cd for computer and tv she loves them because all though they are aimed at youngsters they are easy to follow. there are also some useful websites that use reading and singing to encourage language skills i would start with asking the school which websites they use in the classroom and try the bbc because you might find something on the bitesize.
there are also the keystage reader rabbit series of games for computer that do reading and spelling maths they come in differant keystage from pre-school to keystage 2 i think but they make learning enjoyable i know they might be young for her but it might be worth looking it up on the internet and seeing what you think
let you know if i find anything else while im looking for my little one
