its been 5 weeks since i sent off the forms but i have finally had a call today from someone from family fund who wants to come and visit and see DSs statement and meet me and Dh to fill out the form and then come back to meet DS.

This is fine, i applied for £100 towards cost of holiday which i have already booked and i applied for new washer dryer and also some money to help cover cost of extra help that i will need over summer.

what sort of things will they be asking me?

It is normal that the first time you apply they come visit you, usually just a friendly chat.

In my experience the visitor is lovely and so please don`t worry about it.Might be helpful to write down beforehand why the holiday will benefit you all and also the extra costs involved in caring for your child with sn.
BTW,be careful re: cost of extra help over summer. They may feel that is outside their remit.Have you looked into direct payments?

i was told to apply for this by someone from autism outreach, she said that because i have a tiny garden i cant apply for trampoline etc so i could get help with paying for stuff for DS to do over summer ie trampoline sessions and days out. i have got some respite over the holidays from social services which i have just been awarded and have told FF this so will see what they say. SS wont give me any more than one day a week with childminder (which i know im very lucky to get BTW!)
