Hello i have not been on here for a while but wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this. My DS 9 has ADHD and we are currently going through the asd assessments. We had our review on tuesday and it came back inconclusive !! The adi came back with the result of a positive dx but the adi did not. They now want to do a school assessment/obs to see if that helps clear things up.

Has anyone else ever been through this too. It is so upsetting for us as my DH and i are sure he has AS and so many things we told the DR who did the ados said that the things my ds does and says are not like the child he saw !! The boy he saw would not have said to someone at school "i think you are a better friend than a footballer if i were you i wouldnt waste my time playing something you are technically rubbish at ! " (technically is a word he uses in nearly every sentance ) the boy he said it too understands how my ds is luckily. He also told another boy that he wasnt fat he was convex !! But the dr doing the ados said his language is normal for his age !!

Thanks for reading my ramble xx

My son did the ADOS test last february and it came back "not ASD" but as the nurse could see something wasnt adding up so he was refered to be watched over a longer period at a child assessment unit,he attended a few days a week for a couple of months and he was given a diagnosis of autism last september.
i was told it was missed because of my sons good language skills he also uses words above his age and i was told this is refered to as "little professor syndrome".
