DLA bloody hell, can this be right?

I had a letter a couple of days ago to say that they received my form on the 8th of March. Fair enough. The original form was requested on the 10th Feb but stamped in red 15th Feb. I wasn't expecting to hear again and to ring after at least eight weeks had passed.

Just looked at my bank account and £351 has gone in from DLA

Now before I start celebrating - what on earth sort of award do I have? It looks like five weeks at Higher Rate which I was going for due to DS atrocious sleep.

But if they pay in advance for the month as well as the backdated stuff it could be lower or middle in advance IYSWIM?

Don't know whether to laugh or prepare myself for further battles now. Why do these things always happen when you can't ring the people concerned?

I'd love to know if you have any ideas, will never be able to sleep now!

In any case, thank you so so much for all your encouragement and advice so far on my threads and others

I think it is paid in arrears, so I think that means that you have been awarded HRC.

You should get a letter very soon. Don't forget to check whether you qualify for carer's allowance.

They normally pay in arrears or with Ds1 they pay 3 weeks in arrears and one week ahead, not sure why but maybe it changed in 10 years

I got a lump sum in my acc before the letter too, It was arrears from the date of applying til the decision date, so prob is HRC.

Don't forget to tell tax credits, you will be due money from them too.

I rang and yes it is HRC from the 10th Feb, awarded for two years. Five working days has to be a record for them it's pretty good for any organisation!

I'll tell Tax Credits, thanks chopstheduck.
