moving to petersfield area

After much deliberation, we've put our house on the market (yesterday) to move to the petersfield area. We are currently in Hertfordshire in a town with fantastic but very competitive state schools. Both DS and DD unhappy.

DD is in year 3, has uncontrolled complex partial epilepsy and associated learning issues. DS in reception, bright and healthy. Can anyone in the area recommend good primary schools. We're off to see Rogate (which has spaces) and seems fantastic from the website and Ditcham Park (for DD but more with view to secondary education.)

Just want them to be happy, meet friends (and me) and to escape the over-competitive nature of their current school.

Would really appreciate advice from mums in the area.

Hi,
We are currently looking into this area too.
My hubby has taken a job in the area and we are looking into Petersfield/Rogate areas as possible options to live - we currently live in Cambridgshire, and don't know anyone down there!
My children are younger, but I am also curious as to the schooling in the area.
Would be grateful for any info you glean from fellow mumsnetters!
Do you know people in the area?

Hi,

I have a friend in Rowlands Castle (approx 10 miles to the South) but otherwise don't know anyone in the area.

We visited Rogate school and Ditcham Park on Monday - both seemed very good and the views over the Downs from both the playing fields were amazing (although I'm not sure DD or DS would appreciate the views!). Rogate has spaces for both DS and DD and would provide the small village primary environment that we're seeking for DD. It also has a good ofsted and results.

My friend recommended Burriton and I believe that Langrish also has a good reputation.

Have you looked at any areas yet? How old are your children?
