a happy moment

Earlier this evening I was stopped in my tracks by overhearing ds1 singing to himself 'I love my mummy, yes, I love my mummy' (he didn't know I was listening). This from the boy who has never said 'I love you' though I say it to him every night. I just stood in the kitchen and wept for happiness. Of course, afterwards it was back to all the usual frustrations of life with him, but it was there for a moment, and I heard it, and I just wanted to share it with some people who would understand what a rare and precious moment it was.
