Feel like banging head on brick wall.thought things were looking up .hertz agreed to ds going to speech unit that Essex had identified yay so far,
but unit now says ds to pd for them without extra funding .But The school for pd says ds not disabled enough
we tried ms but that failed even with 27hrs as ds language needs so bad

Ss not suitable as ds has no ld And his cognitave devlopment is within normal boundries
so right now he has no placement and couple ms went seen admitted could not cope with language needs which come out as 2%receptive below 1% expressive

Just so tired and ds has had no school since JAnuary so I not had a break at all

Is he of statutory school age? If so they have to educate him. Kick up a stink.

Think that's there loop hole ds is not 5 till July so figure they can drag it out till SEptember but he was In ft education from SEptember til Xmas ,not that he actually learnt anything.I think speech unit be best that's ds main need but school diging feet in as dc only in unit in morning ms in afternoon with shared support where ds pd and language needs are severe enough need extra

that's terrible, phoenix.

which placement is your ed psych supporting? i think the ed psych has quite a big say in decisions relating to placement. have you had a meeting with them recently? if not, might be time to arrange one. even if they are dragging things out until september, you'll want to make sure that a place is being kept open for ds at the most appropriate school in order to give you peace of mind.

best of luck with this.

We have not seen the lea ed physc since he was at preschool.but the ican one stated that ds needs a language unit

Even lea panel agreed it'S the school
that say they don't want him

noone seems to yet he's a happy little boy most of. The time , with lot of potential in the right enviroment .can't even take step back to preschool as it would take to long to find place plus A 1-1 that's trained

Am just tired love him dearly but not had a break at all since before xmas

I agree that the LEA Ed Psych has a big influence - much more than the parent's. Could you contact LEA Ed Pysch and insist on an explanation about which school and why he should be going to ? Sorry if that is not helpful, it's all I can think of.

Phoenix4725 · 09/03/2010 09:04

Ah I thought it was the term after he is 5 that became compulsary.guess going to have to go through all the ed pysch stuff again.

Think more complicated as we moved. it's the speech unit that turned ds down it's out of county but only 4miles from me

So tired have to fight gp for referals again. To but that's whole new rant
