i had adhd as a child and did teaching for a while where i had children with this. they need to have patience given a praise when they decide to get hyper i just sat with them on lap and read to them and they calm down. you have to explain a routine to them as they don t deal with changes well ( i still struggle with big changes myself and now nearly 30 ) and explain what going to happen every day . he will be slower at co ordination and find doing two things at once confusing and hard just give one thing at time if overloaded can make them have big tantrums children with this can have dispraer as well which means they are slightly clumier then other children practice activities that need concentration for small amounts of times and fine moter activities such as writting and drawing as they can should and express how they are feeling, whsmith do 2 really useful books my mum read when i was younger and i read them to help me help the children in class. good luck

Hello and welcome.

It might be better for you to start a new thread with the title:

ADHD new diagnosis: What do I do now?

Or something similar that will bring out the ADHD parents.

Good luck
