Hello. thank you to everyone that posted on my first thread regarding dd2 and asd. its given me the confidence to post again. so thank you.

i'm still feeling lost and have booked myself onto a HELP programme run by the NAS. has anyone been on one before and are they any good.

I'm hoping it'll spoon-feed me information about autism, help me understand why dd2 was diagnosised and tips on everything else.

any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

I have been on one and found it really useful. There were about 25 parents attending and it went through lots of aspects of ASD, like behaviour, sensory issues and language. They also covered practical things like dealing with LAs, statementing and social services. We were given a pack of factsheets and a book packed full of information. It was my first opportunity to meet local parents (rather than online) and a good way to find out more about local services.
