which paed???

Hiya i want to ask fr a second opinion for my son, so gonna go the gp tomorow, but i would like to find out what paeds specialise in, th one we see now is a general one and i fell that ds needs to see smeone who knows more about asd, add, adhd and those kind of conditions. tried looking on the internet but was wonderig if there is a site that tells you or a number who i can call to find out. thanks so much.

I think the NAS hold lists of ASD specialists , but i'm unsure if they are NHS ones

There is a list here (pdf) which provides details of practitioners offering ASD dx close to London. Some take self-referrals, others you would have to go via your GP. If none of these are close to you, it is worth contacting the NAS for some names in your area. You would want a developmental paed, but even then not all of them will necessarily know much about ASD.
